Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse Limited Edition Artist Series - Year of the Dragon

Arc Touch Mouse
A revolution in mouse design -The perfect companion for your mobile PC.
Good fortune and style in the palm of your hand

Two unique designs accentuate the Arc Touch Mouse Limited Edition Artist Series. Celebrate 2012 with the black Year of the Dragon Arc Touch Mouse, designed by Shenzhen, China-based artist Paco. Chinese dragons symbolize power, strength, good luck, and auspicious powers, and we certainly hope the Dragon Arc Touch brings you good fortune this year. Or if white and floral is more your style, the whimsical design by artist Oh Joy makes for a practical yet stylish PC accessory.

Perfectly portable-and award-winning-Touch technology

Stylish and eye-grabbing, Arc Touch Mouse is more than a pretty device. It's reliable wireless freedom plus Microsoft touch technology, on the go. Use it just about anywhere, even on a rough wood surface or carpet, thanks to BlueTrack Technology. Plus you can retain wireless control of your computer up to 30 feet away.

Curve it for use, flatten for storage

Arc Touch Mouse's innovative design allows for quick use and storage. Curve it comfortably to get started. Then smoothly glide your finger up or down the touch strip. When you're done, keep the tiny transceiver plugged into your computer's USB port, or attach it magnetically onto the underside of the mouse. Then flatten Arc Touch Mouse to turn it off, and slip it into your pocket or bag as easily as a cell phone.

Precise vertical scrolling by feel, not wheel

The Touch strip on the Arc Touch Mouse responds precisely to the speed of your finger movement, using Haptic feedback (light vibration that signals scrolling speed) to scan through documents or web pages as quickly-or as cautiously-as needed, entirely by feel.

I have read the other reviews on this mouse, and I couldn't figure out for the life of me why so many people say that the buttons are stiff. I find them easier to press than the "standard" Microsoft Mouse. However, I realized today that it is because many people press the bottom of the button on their mouse (which is the same as pressing the top on most mice). Since the buttons on this mouse are essentially long levers, the closer to the end of the "lever" the easier it is to push. I have longer fingers and always press the top of the button (which is VERY easy on this mouse).

When I purchased my first one, I honestly thought that it would be something to "put up with" in order to get it into the ultra-thin case of my netbook. I couldn't have been more wrong, as I have now replaced the full-size mouse on my laptop and my desktop as well. The combination optical/laser in it is fantastic on more surfaces than any mouse I have used. The scroll is intuitive (and still actually feels like a "wheel" under your finger), and lets you do a lot more than the normal scroll mouse.

As far as the people who say that the dongle sticks out too far to put into the laptop case . . . I suspect they are either paranoid or their ports are designed to keep it from going all the way in. If mine was any smaller at all, I would have to use needle-nosed pliers to take it out. It is just barely big enough to grab with the tips of my fingers, which is moot since I don't ever take it out (unless I am showing it off to someone). It is extremely ridgid and does not feel like there is any chance of breaking it off (short of something that would damage the laptop anyway).

I am writing this review because I am frankly a bit upset. I avoided buying this mouse because I read all sorts of reviews about how awkward it was to use. I eventually decided that despite all the whining about this mouse that I would get it anyway because it was thin and had so many features that I needed for travel.

If you have been avoiding buying this mouse because of all the so so reviews, DON'T. Go out and buy one. This is one well designed mouse. Frankly, it is a thing of beauty. I normally don't support anything Microsoft but whoever design this mouse deserves a raise. The button placement is perfect. The function of the scroll bar is fine. The additional tap functionality is outstanding.

I now no longer use it for travel. It is also the mouse on my desk. Also if you have more than one computer and more than one monitor on your desk, this mouse is even better, because when you want to disable it, you just flatten it. That is actually easy to remember and saves on batteries over silly switches that are hidden under the mouse.

This is ONE time I am sorry to have read too many reviews about the product. Way to go Microsoft. Very nice product.

This has to be THE best mouse I have ever owned. You curl it to turn it on and flatten it to turn it off! The transceiver is unbelievable small but has amazing range. The mouse, when curled, fits my hand perfectly and the ease and use and options to coordinate what your buttons and scroll do is simply amazing! Love it!

Mouse was in a very nice box, and true to what's advertised, the mouse is sleek and great to use.
Although it's a little more expensive than the usual arc mouse, price for this mouse is still acceptable since it's a limited Chinese Zodiac Dragon design.

Microsoft invented the mouse and continue to do nice things with it. Bluetrack is awesome, can use it on surfaces you would never think you could use a mouse on.
Flexible on off feature is just cool but also turns out to be very handy in practice. Just takes out the fuss of remembering to turn it on and off.
It just works and reminds us how brain damaged the touch screen interface is. Every time I use this I feel sorry for Apple fans who have such poor input choices.

This product is very well designed and very portable. It takes up so little space in my bag. The blu-track technology allows this device to be used on almost any surface. I would recommend this product to a friend. Definitley glad I bought this!

I bought this as a gift for the husband, who was born in the year of the dragon--very nice graphic.
Actually this was the 3rd one I bought--i tried 2 others from the Amazon 'refurbished' sellers--what a joke! totally didn't work--don't waste your time or think you're saving money by buying refurbished. I think they just take junk and send it out again. sad.

anyway, this mouse, new, came in perfect shape, and worked perfect right out of the beautiful presentation box. We have a newer win7 laptop which we take on all roadtrips--we wanted a cordless mouse that wasn't a big bulge in the carrier. this one is nice since it folds flat when it's powered down.

It's comfortable to use, the scroll strip works well, and you can set the buttons for your own tastes.

works great for us, travels well, works on carpet, pants leg, tabletop, etc.

totally have no problems with it so far.
