Good Keyboard.,

This review is from: Microsoft B2L-00002 MS Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 (Electronics)
When I bought this my main worry was that the curved layout of the keyboard would take some getting used to---it did not. My touch-typing was not affected by the layout.
The keyboard has a very nice feel which is a little heavier than the feel of the cheapy keyboards. While not silent it is very quiet (i.e., no annoying clicking). The size of the keyboard is the same width of a typical PC keyboard though it is 1.5-2" deeper due to the panel of media keys above the function keys. The only media keys that look like they might be useful are the speaker control keys (louder, quieter and mute/unmute). There is also a tiny key above the numeric keypad which launchs the MS calculator (there is probably a way to get it to bring up other apps instead). I hope that this keyboard will give me good service; the spill (and crumb?) resistant feature will probably help in that endeavor. I've had two other keyboards (a Belkin and an IBM) die on me in the past few years. If my feelings don't change after a few weeks of usage, I'll probably buy one for my Linux box as well. I'm at the keyboard all day so a good keyboard is a worthwhile investment.

If you are wanting a Canadian keyboard that has French accents, then this keyboard is not the right product for you. When I bought it, I was expecting it to include the French accents, which would make it a "Canada" keyboard. When I received it, I was disappointed. I spent hours that day on the phone and on the Internet trying to find another keyboard that had French accents. I ended up keeping this keyboard and purchasing French-Candadian keyboard stickers for the keyboard. What ended up happening, I found later, is that this keyboard is made for North America users, which would not indicate accents. The stickers ended up costing me a little over $1, and with shipping around $5. As far as this goes, it should work as well as a Canadian keyboard, but I was banking on the fact that this was supposed to be a Canadian keyboard.
However, if you are looking for an inexpensive keyboard, this IS the one! It is very affordable and it is a great find! Don't buy any other keyboard. You'd be wasting your money and time!

It was a little difficult to install. No drivers sent with product, had to manually do uninstall of current keyboard, then install the proper driver found at Microsoft. Downloaded the latest Intellipoint program.
Difficulty was having to use control panel, device manager, to get rid of the previous driver. If you leave the old keyboard plugged in to log on your computer, you can't necessarily just plug the new one in and go.

Some of the keys are intermittant and don't work all the time.,

I bought one of these because I liked the larger keys for my big fingers.
Having taken typing in High school the layout threw me off just a bit since the curve of the keys curve the wrong direction IMHO, But the real problem was with the first keyboard the "D" key would stop working. So I took it back and got a replacement. 3days later both the "D" key and the "]" stop working intermittently. If you physically flex the keyboard you can make them start working again which indicates a loose connection somewhere inside the keyboard. I guess Microsoft wants their hardware to work like their software..... So I guess tommorow I'll just go get a refund and try something else. Bad part is, all the other keyboards I see have TINY keys......

I highly recommend my Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000-USB-ergonomic-black-Canada! I have recently finished writing my latest book, consisting of 600+ pages, not to mention all my everyday tasks, such as surfing the web and answering e-mails, etc. I bought a new laptop a few weeks ago to replace my aging desktop computer, but have plugged my trusty, ergonomic Comfort Curve into the laptop, to continue typing in comfort!
