Highly recommended. Uses it and passed!

I've read the reviews of some others on this site about the typos---but simply put, this book enabled me to pass the VB Certification test with flying colors. I haven't seen any of the others, but when I took the test, the questions from the simulated tests on the supplied CD with this book were on the test---almost verbatim!

The book is ovepriced, and with such a high percentage of errors. If the book is used as the sole study guide to pass the certification exam, then there is no way that the exam can be passed. I have attempted to get the Publishers to refund the cost of the book, but as yet (6 months) later there has been no response other thtan they will pass the query to the author. The author now has a VB5 version for the same outrageous $99.99 price. I will not waste my money on this as I do not expect any improvement in the contents.

Very comprehensive. However, there are too many mistakes in the book and the accompanying CD. Are the authors publishing corrections? For example, I found this answer in the Chapter 2 test, to be particularly disturbing: "The statement Form1.BackColor = RGB(0,0,0) The correct answer is: will change the form's background color to white." The correct answer is black. This is only one of many mistakes I uncovered in Chapter 2 alone. I prefer to pass the Exam. Given that, errors of this nature make it difficult to rely on this book.

As I mentioned in my earlier review, I use this book in a course I teach for VB4 exam preparation. I think you'll find it invaluable in your preparation for the exam. There's no other book like this on the market right now (I'm working on my own,) and fortunately, this book is a good one. However, I've got a list of about 40 typos, errors, etc. that I need to get to the publisher on this.

It is a good reference book to prepare for your Visual Basic Exam. Most of the concepts have been summarized in an organized way so that you can understand and memorize them easily. However, several minor mistakes found. Finally, I would like to thank the authors, Howard Hawhee and Peg Toomey

I teach a VB Preparation course, and I use this book in my classes. It's got good material. The CD that accompanies the book has fairly good test material (There are a few mistakes). All in all, it's a great way to prepare for the test. I'd like to see the price fall a bit (It lists at 99.99, a penny under the cost to take the exam). It's a bit too much in my opinion
