I completely depend on OneNote. I run it on my Kindle Fire HD, iPhone, Surface, Desktop and Laptop. The family also has it on their iPhones and computers so we can keep the shopping list in the phone. For work, I use it to track all of my tasks and where I keep documentation for myself, to share with my team or to share with other teams. My son uses it to keep track of all of his notes and ideas for a story he is writing.

I am not talking specifically about the version for the Kindle Fire here. What makes OneNote so useful is the number of platforms it can run on and how useful it is overall. It took Microsoft a long time to come out with the Kindle edition and it is a nice edition for me. It is nice to have OneNote available on the larger screen of my Kindle Fire without having to grab my Surface or fire up my laptop.

Woohoo! I love how Microsoft is getting the Office apps on multiple platforms. OneNote is now my replacement over notepad for taking notes and storing memories I need to recall later.

1.0 out of 5 stars Really would like to be able to use with Kindle Fire HD November 14, 2014
Verified Purchase
I have the Kindle Fire HD from 2012 and OneNote will not work with this.

I see that the later versions of Kindle Fire appear to be capable of running this application. The details for why this wouldn't work for the earlier versions are a little fuzzy. The only thing that I've heard is that it is something due to a lack of microphone. If so this seems to be a lame reason for it not being able to integrate. Not everyone (including me) would even need this capability.

Our workplace is adopting OneNote to view data needed on the spot. I would like to be able to check in on these notes when I am away from my work PC.

I have e-mailed Amazon support with this issue. The e-mail I received back was quite cordial. I was told that my request was forwarded to the Kindle development team and that feedback like this helps improve their product.

I am wondering if with enough direct feedback that it might be possible to get this issue resolved. My contact was through Amazon Help and Customer Service. (Be sure to be logged in to your Amazon account) Click problem with order. On the bottom of the page there is a Contact Us button.

I normally don't get too involved with reviews but this would be an instance that if resolved would help me to stick with my Kindle which I otherwise really enjoy.

1.0 out of 5 stars useless till you can set readable font size August 4, 2014

I wanted to like it, since I use the desktop version heavily, but this ipp is pretty useless until the app at least lets so set the font size to something that's actually readable.

I give Microsoft 5 stars for OneNote as a whole - I use it on my Mac, iOS devices, Kindle (where this is) and of course Microsoft Windows 7 and even in Citrix. Works great!
I love the new "encrypt" option for sections in iOS, but that feature has not made it to the Kindle edition yet - locking me out of certain sections that I now encrypt.
I am sure that will come - at which point this will be a 5 star review.
Overall, OneNote does a beautiful job of capturing and storing notes, categorized as you see fit in tabs and pages.
The metaphor would be for a notebook with sections (tabs) and pages.
You can capture just words, text in pages or paragraphs, and photos / web pages - basically anything.
Microsoft can, if you choose, synchronize between ALL your devices through the Live account you can (optionally) setup. That's what I do. That is indispensable for having information you need at your fingertips.
Now you can encrypt sections - say a page with logon accounts, sensitive bank information, etc.
One Note integrates with Office and the Live / OneDrive account
One Note is rock solid reliable.
There is no "sort" function, which users have been asking for over the years - for some reason, Microsoft never incorporated that, which would be a huge help. You can search, and it's very fast at searching. I have thousands of pages in over a hundred sections, and it searches in seconds.
Great product!
