5.0 out of 5 stars The Standard
William Stanek has been my favorite tech author for many years now. Ever since starting with Windows NT Pocket Consultant in 1999, I've been hooked.

He packs more into his books than any one. It's always clear and to the point, and it's one of the reasons his books are my favorites.

The best thing about this book is the low price. Most of the commands in the book that I have tried are not correct or don't exist. Because of this, many examples examples do not work. There has to be a better reference for Exchange 207.

William Stanek has been my favorite tech author for many years now. Ever since starting with Windows NT Pocket Consultant in 1999, I've been hooked.

He packs more into his books than any one. It's always clear and to the point, and it's one of the reasons his books are my favorites.

With almost 17 years of Win experience under my belt, I got this book to sharpen up on the newest version of Exchange. The stuff in here is amazing. I've learned a lot of new tricks from this book. Nothing escapes his eye, every section clears up something or gives expert insights in ways i wouldn't have thought of myself.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone upgrading from previous versions and any current administrators. For day to day work it can't be beat. Great work, William !

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for learning or reference, May 15, 2007

This is the first Pocket Consultant book I've purchased. It walked me through all the essentials needed to learn Exchange 2007 (I used the 32-bit evaluation) and it pretty much covers everything.

The author provides examples of using the GUI or CMDlets to configure Exchange. He also provides valuable real-world tips. This one will be used often when it's time for deployment!

I found some mistakes as far as how many stores are available for each type of server i.e. standard vs. enterprise but so far all the printed material I have read contradicts the Microsoft website other then that is was a good point to start from I do wish there was more Command line stuff in it. but overall very good book

This 560-page book doesn't quite fit in your pocket, but it is packed with useful information. Includes both GUI and command-line, and I've had no problems with the code samples. Clear and concise, this book has been a tremendous help.

5.0 out of 5 stars Precisely what I was looking for, October 9, 2007

Excellent book, precisely what I was looking for. I used this book in planning and setting up our Exchange 2007. Chock full of useful examples and lots of command line (and the examples do of course work without any problems.) It's a handy book which does just what it says.

I was looking for a book that covers the differences between Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2007; and this book delivered. The author is clear, concise, and very easy to read. He covers everything you would want to know about Exchange 2007. The one issue I noticed is that he stated in several places that Exchange 2007 Standard Edition has a database limit of 16GB; in reality it is 16TB. Outside of this minor issue I highly recommend this book if you are new to Exchange Server, or are planning to upgrade to Exchange 2007.
