Product won't upgrade - No Microsoft Support,
By
This review is from: Microsoft Expression Media 2 Upgrade Mac/Win (CD-ROM)
Expression Media is a wonderful product, however, previous users of iView Media Pro should beware. I purchased iView Media Pro about 3 years ago and then upgraded to Microsoft Expression Media after Microsoft purchased iView. I have an email from Microsoft with details about my upgrade and my license number.
I just purchased the Expression Media2 upgrade and am being told that my license number is invalid. Microsoft does NOT have technical support that you can call to get a quick remedy. After searching online, I see that others have experienced the same problem. If you are a previous user of iView Media Pro and are upgrading DO NOT PURCHASE THIS, as your license number may not work. There isn't an option to insert a cd of an older version, etc, like what Adobe does. Apparently Microsoft is too big a company to provide assistance to individuals. To see if your product will upgrade, it must be in the form: 51872-442-2230403-56078. If it has a bunch of letters in it (like the original iView license) it won't upgrade.

Upgrade from iView Media - No Problems,
By
This review is from: Microsoft Expression Media 2 Upgrade Mac/Win (CD-ROM)
Upgrading from iView Media Pro (2.x) was no problem for me. You need to enter the "Expression Media" license key not the old iView key. The Expression Media key is inside the box.
Big improvements over iView Media Pro (2.x) -- especially performance. I run this on an old G4 Mac (OS 10.5)

Great Program if not using Lightroom,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Microsoft Expression Media 2 Upgrade Mac/Win (CD-ROM)
I used the predecessor iView Pro for many years as my sole source of DAM and when it was taken over by Microsoft, the program remained mostly unchanged.
If you are not using Lightroom for your DAM, this program will manage all your images. It's a good solid program and an old friend before Lightroom. |
