Microsoft Flight Simulator 98/World of Flight 98, April 4, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Microsoft Flight Simulator 98/World of Flight 98 (CD-ROM)
I recieved this as a gift for Christmas a year ago. At the time, I really wasn't all that interested in flight simulator games, much less know how to fly a plane on a game. Within a couple of weeks, I was really mastering the game. I could do almost anything. The great thing abou this is that you can almost basically teach yourself how to do most anything on it, but you should still read the book about the game because it's really informative. I think that would make a perfect gift for anyone. I think that almost anyone is capable of having a great time doing this. The graphics are great for this. I definitely recommend this and the recently released 2000 version of this is probably just as good and maybe a little better than this.

This Is As Real As It Gets!, January 21, 2003
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Microsoft Flight Simulator 98/World of Flight 98 (CD-ROM)
Microsoft Flight Simulator 98 is the #1 Flight Sim. Fly in models such as the Learjet 95 and the Boeing 747. Cessena flight models are the eaiser way to fly but if you want some challenge try the Boeing. When you crash it is kinda stupid. The plane sticks upright in the ground and then restarts in mid-air. I have played ALL of the Flight Simulators. Including FS2000 and FS2000 Professional Edition. These two simulators are too hard for a person that just wants to fly and have fun instead of searching through the manual and trying to start the plane for takeoff. Graphics 7/10 The graphics are OK. If you don't fly the already made flights you don't see buildings. Amount of Airports 10/10 Wow! There's whole bunches of airports. You can even fly in Egypt and fly right by the pyramids of Giza! Amount of Aircraft 4/10 You just have a little bit of planes to fly. You have about 6 planes you can fly compared to the 30 planes in FS2002. You can fly a helicopter if you want! FS98 was the first to star the helicopter. If combat sims your looking for look at AceCombat04: Shattered Skies! Happy flying!

The best game for all ages..., August 22, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Microsoft Flight Simulator 98/World of Flight 98 (CD-ROM)
This is the best game ever for all ages... And especially for the pilots and who dream to be a pilot but he can't study pilot for some reasons... And it's very good for children cause they entertain them selves and they can learn the places and the huge airports in our world... And now the countries by selecting an airport in a specific country and then see it... (The FS98 provides the cities as it looks... I'm from Jordan and I flight via Queen Alia Intl every summer and I can see it's same as the real thing... It's the best game I think...

Very fun to play., August 21, 1999

This review is from: Microsoft Flight Simulator 98/World of Flight 98 (CD-ROM)
I don't think that this game is very educational, except that people might gain some knowledge (very little) about how to pilot something. Trust me, the first time I tried it, I was so bad that my plane crashed every time. However, I think that this is one of the best games you could buy; non-violent (except for maybe the planes crashing); fun.

The best Flight Simulator yet!, August 18, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Microsoft Flight Simulator 98/World of Flight 98 (CD-ROM)
Flight Simulator 98 is one of the most real flight sim on the market. It is lacking of realistic ATC voices though. There are many add-ons like planes and scenery available over the internet. Overall, it is a good buy!

This is a great simulator, full of great pictures of popular places from around the world and choices of planes to fly. It just needs alittle fine tuning to make it five star

This flight simulator leaves much to be desired. If you're thinking of getting this, get Flight Unlimited II instead. If you got this already, pray you can exchange.

As Real As It Gets!, November 21, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Microsoft Flight Simulator 98/World of Flight 98 (CD-ROM)
Hello, I have been an armchair (pc) pilot for many years now. Just recently I have been able to pursue my dream of really taking flying lessons. As a student pilot I feel qualified to say that Microsoft is right when they make the statement on the box that say's "It is as real as it gets!"

A great Flight Simulator, December 9, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Microsoft Flight Simulator 98/World of Flight 98 (CD-ROM)
Flight Simulator 98 is an awesome game. The airport/facility directory really helps. The chopper pads in New York really add to the Bell 206B, though it is sometimes difficult to control using buttons for a rudder. The scenery and planes are first class. Very Realistic!
