4.0 out of 5 stars It's called "Greetings" not Projects.
Microsoft has an nice program here with excellent illustrations to choose from in creating your own greeting cards. It is a one-trick pony but does do the trick very well. The one thing consumers should be aware of is the amount of space it will hog on your computer. Look at the minimum space requirements and then double them to get a better idea of how much room it...

2.0 out of 5 stars disappointing
I have been a fatihful user of the Microsoft Greeting Card programs, but with each new edition they do less and are less user friendly. If you just want to make cards....and nothing else. This program will suit you fine. However, if you are interested in creating not just cards, but posters, business cards, wrapping paper, certificates, etc., then check out...

3.0 out of 5 stars MS Greetings is Good but Lacking..., April 2, 2002

This review is from: Microsoft Greetings 2002 [Old Version] (CD-ROM)
If you're a novice with this type of program, better forget Greetings, since the software came with no user guide at all--just a CD in a large, flashy box. In addition, there is no online guide included on the CD. To make matters worse, when I went to prepare an Envelope and tried to find the Envelope feature, I made the mistake of going to the Help function. There is nothing there on preparing envelopes. I wrote Microsoft, and unbelievably, the response was "don't know if a user guide should have been included..." and "The Help wasn't written correctly for Greetings because they used the same Help function that goes with Picture It!" I stumbled on the Envelope feature by accident when I selected the topic "Blank." Microsoft should have done better. If you have time to play with it, the program is easy to use, good graphics and selections, but beware of lousy Help, no user guide, and lousy MS support.

2.0 out of 5 stars Nice, but crashes all the time, March 26, 2002

I've been using this for a couple of weeks now. Like everything about it, but make sure you save at every step. You still may have problems, but at least you stand a chance to recover. I have yet to get all the way through printing a card without it crashing at least once. Sometimes it corrupts the file you were working on, so even if you DID save it, it may or may not be recoverable.
The interface is nice and all, but it's very frustration to take an hour to make a card that SHOULD have taken 5 minutes.

1.0 out of 5 stars A peice of junk, December 3, 2001

Sure you can create greeting cards, but what if you want to create business cards, labels, T-shirts, flyers, or stationary? Nada, does not exist, although most other programs have these features standard. This program is junk. I suggest American Greetings Plantinum 5 or 6.. A much better program. Microsoft just does not get it.

The one thing consumers should be aware of is the amount of space it will hog on your computer. Look at the minimum space requirements and then double them to get a better idea of how much room it needs to work smoothly. Same thing with the RAM. Too little RAM and it will freeze up on you or take forever to preview. While I generally dislike Microsoft products, this program has very professionally done graphics and colors which is what you are really purchasing in a card program.

5.0 out of 5 stars For those wanting to make just greeting cards., February 5, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Microsoft Greetings 2002 [Old Version] (CD-ROM)
Microsoft Greetings is perfect for those wanting to make a quick greeting card for a birthday or holiday or "just because". It has a nice selection of graphics and formats so that you can make a unique card that can be printed, published on the web or professionally printed. But like its name states this product is only for making greeting cards. If you want to do banners, labels, photo albums etc you should look into MS Picture It! Publishing or MS Picture It! Premium for a more robust application that includes photo editing. However if you are looking for a program to send greeting cards to loved ones during the year (esp if you forget and need one at the very last minute like me) then I recommend Microsoft Greetings.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not happy with Microsoft Greetings, December 14, 2002

I was using the Hallmark Greetings Workshop by
Microsoft but lost the CD-rom. I decided to buy
this product and have been so unhappy that I had
to purchase Hallmark Card Studio. MS Greetings
is very difficult to use and has much fewer clip art
selections, background choices, and color options.
I strongly suggest spending a little extra for the
Hallmark product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Can't Be That Bad, February 2, 2002
This review is from: Microsoft Greetings 2002 [Old Version] (CD-ROM)
At school I used a old version of Greetings and surprisingly it was easy to use. At first you have to get accustomed to the user interface, but after a while you don't have to concentrate on customization. Software programs take time getting use to. It has a lot of great features that are good enough for publishing. But if you the users want better publishing capabilities such as Business Cards, News Letters, Greeting Cards and wonderful easy to use features why not try Microsoft Publisher 2002. For users who are new to things such as creating cards and other craft projects the integration and ease use between Microsoft Office makes Publisher 2002 a easy to use application. To me, Greetings is just an essentials program but if you want it all go for Publisher 2002.

I wish I could return this product - the choices are very minimal, and even re-sizing objects is unsuccessful because you can see the pixels. There are 13 cards to choose from under the category "family". Please!

I have Microsoft Greetings Workshop ver 2, and Greetings 2000, and they are both better that this product. I still use my Microsoft Greetings 2000, and threw away the 2002...
