Good for Beginners,
By Centerfire "Chris" (Colorful Colorado) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Microsoft Internet Information Server 4 for Dummies (Paperback)
This "For Dummies" book isn't meant to get you MCSE certified, rather it gives a beginner to IIS4 (like me) a good, general overview of the topic. I liked how Mr. Angell wrote chapters 1 - 5 not about IIS4, but about how TCP/IP works, the different connections you can use to connect your server to the net, and suggestions about minimum hardware requirements. Most IIS4 books don't even touch on those topics. Chapter 6 and on give more good info on how to get IIS4 up an running. Especially good were Chapter 10 on Security and Chapter 13 on ASP. After reading this book, I was able to get my server going, and now I am ready for a more in-depth book on IIS4.

Don't buy this book,

This book did absolutely nothing for me. If you can get through all the typos and misinformation, you may pick up some general information, but it didn't help me accomplish anything.
