After testing out 3 webcams: Logitech Quickcam chat($25), Creative Live ($30), and Logitech communicate STX ($42)this one is the best. The first two were pieces of junk. I really wanted to like Logitech's communicate STX due to the good ratings, but their drivers do not work with older computers and Logitech does not have updated drivers. I spent 2 hours on the set up and trying out their driver downloaded from their site. I returned that the next day. Today I recieved Microsoft Vx-3000, which I bought here on Amazon for $36 and I'd have to say it's a really good webcam. Set up was super fast, it took less than 10 mins to get on yahoo messenger live on cam). The quality is really good too. WOW! I'm a satisfied customer. I will update if any problems arise.

Works Well, Good Quality! Recommended,
By C. F. Hill "CFH" (Blue Ridge Summit, PA USA) - See all my reviews (HALL OF FAME REVIEWER) (TOP 10 REVIEWER) (REAL NAME) This webcam was very easy to install and setup, taking less than a half hour so before I was able to make my first test shots. The automatic recognition by Windows Live Messenger was great and did not require any additional settings. The video quality is good for web and video chatting, but I wouldn't use it for taking photos that are to be printed. The audio is also good for video chatting, but not much else. This is a good solid webcam that performs better than expected! Recommended!

Do yourself a favor and stay away from this garbage,

This review is from: LifeCam VX-3000 WIN (CD-ROM)
This was literally the worse picture quality I have ever encountered in my entire life. Looking at myself on the screen was equivilent to wearing my mothers glasses whose vision nears 200/200. I couldn't even read the huge text on my shirt. The best part of the whole deal was returning it and getting something that resembled a camera. If you want a webcam and you are thinking about buying this one you may as well go stare at your reflection in the toilet bowl because that is about as functional as this camera. Do yourself a favor and stay far far away. Not to mention it felt like a giant eyeball was staring me down, kinda creepy really.
