Wonderful product-hope to see more like it,

Midtown Madness is one of those few computer games which you buy and just cannot stop playing. Others get boring, but with MM, the fun remains. The only real competitors this game has are NFS V and Driver. It beats both hands down. I am a driving sim addict-those are the only computer games I play most of the time. Due to this, I have played literally hundreds of driving games, including the computer and PS versions of NFS V and Driver. For a computer game to beat a PS game (I use a keyboard for my computer; no joystick or steering wheel) is *very* rare, but MM achieves this with not a competitor even coming close to it's realism, stability and sheer fun. MM gives you a whole city to drive in-no limits to where you can go, no wrong way, no out of bounds... other games give you 10 or 11 tracks. MM gives you a whole city-and with MM2, they gave you 2! NFS V loses out here. MM has only a few cars (in MM2, they added more) but even with those, the realism of their handling, bumps, engine trouble, noises, damage... is wonderful. Both NFS V and Driver's graphics are better than this, but Driver only gives you one car, so... And besides, you can always download other cars. The competition in MM races is fierce, with the competitors using their cars against your weak points, fishtailing you, bashing you up, cutting you off... The only thing is that the police are *really*, *really* dumb-even the ones in Driver are better Overall, this game passes with flying colours in other fields, but the big test is stability. On my P-III 550 with 64 MB, the game flew, with no crashes and no dropped scenes. On my P-II 450 laptop with 32 MB, the game was only a little worse, with a few pauses and dropped scenes, but nothing major. Compare this to NFS V on the laptop, which crashed the system every time I started it, and Driver, which would freeze after about 1 hour, and the results look good. So, my verdict would be 9.5 on 10, but I gave it a 5 star rating, because there is no option for halves or quarters. I say buy it; I have had it for 6 months and am *very* happy.

This is one of the best simulaters ever. It just blows Need For speed and other games out the window! There are so many tracks, about 30, then there is cruise mode were you get cruise around chicago, while pedestrians and other drivers coment on your driving. If you got a new PC (NOT A LABTOP!) this game is a dreamboat. Tires burn and engines smoke if yoou crash to much. number of cars are ok but the ones they do give are awesome. They give you: VOLKSWAGEN NEW BEETLE, cadallac eldorado, FORD MUSTANG GT, ford mustung fastback, Freightliner Century (flatbed truck), Ford F-350 superduty, Panoz Roadster, Panoz GTR-1, Ford mustang police cruiser, City bus, and i must have forgoton something. If your wondering you can't jump the highway boards theres a invisible wall there and the tops of the buildings are liquid. There are some graphics glitches like disapearing traffic and ghost cars , but who cares with a game like this.

THis game is so cool, you can ride around down town Chicago, smashing cars and doing lots of other damage, or you can drive safely and see all the things you can do on the streets of Chicago. MIdtown Madness is a great game and I recommend to anyone who likes fun games.

Midtown Madness, Driver's Dream!,

What a kickass game! You can drive around central Chicago in 10 cars(plus cheat cars) including an articulated truck, a Beetle, a bus and the Panoz GTR-1! There's Meigs Field, the airport, lifting bridges, a ring road... It's all there, you can even take shortcuts through underground car parks! Or through a shopping mall! Do what the hell you like at speeds of over 200mph(in a fast car). There's checkpoint, blitz and circuit races, a cruise mode and multiplayer mayhem. Like driving? Like Chicago? Well you might not like Chicago but...Overall 95%. It kills Driver easily. But it doesn't let you copy the disc...

I loved Midtown from the moment I first played it... I'm a sucker for driving games, but this one is just a hoot to play. Where else can you tool around a very (VERY) realistically modeled city (Chicago, in this case) in Cruise mode, running away from the cops and re-enacting scenes from "The Blues Brothers"?I agree with some folks that replayability becomes limited; fortunately I had this at work, where I and my co-workers would often have head-to-head races during lunch hour. Great fun was had by all. So you might get sick of the limited selection of cars, the single-player race modes, or even *gasp* Chicago itself. After all, how many donuts can you spin on home plate of Wrigley Field? Cheer up: Midtown Madness 2 is just around the corner. More cars. New race modes. TWO new cities: London, and the mother of ALL car-chase cities, SAN FRANCISCO. Plus, MM2 will be backward-compatible with MM1, so new cars will work in the old city, etc etc. Prepare to feel the Madness once again. And if you haven't played the original, you really should.

Great Driving Game, but could use some improvement,

I love how this game protrays real life and let's you do things you can never do in real traffic. I love being able to go through red lights, squeeze by other cars, dare to turn down one way streets the wrong way and jump ramps, crash through mall windows, etc. If these are things you'd like to do in real traffic, then this game is for you. This game allows you to check your conscience and manners at the door. The rally and checkpoint races get exciting because they seem to be a different game all the time. The rally games are great, because the opponent cars seem to run you off the road which is a nice challange instead of just a computer controlled car which follows the track and goes its course without really competing. It makes you feel like there are real human beings in those computer cars. This game could use some improvement. If you are going to be crashing into all types of objects, how about actually letting the jet land at the airport instead of reaching 3000 feet and then flying away. If you can cause damage on the roads and freeways, then you should be able to cause a disaster on the runway. How about letting you drive into the outskirts of Chicago. The police chases could be better also in my opinion and more realistic. The most the police do is run you off the road and crash into you. Police hardly do that in real life. It would be cool to see a road block or guns drawn. Also, as many times as I crashed into the water, it would be nice to be able to drive out of it instead of "sleeping with the fishes" as they tell you in the game. I'd say buy the game and since I am from NY City, I cannot wait for them to release a NY City version, since NY City is so much bigger than Chicago and has more vicious cops.

It's a game which you could just keep coming back to just because it's fun. The graphics are excellent, and the AI is great. I think it would have been better though if Microsoft had included some more tracks. Other than that a wonderful game.

This is the best game i have played since a long time. If you love driving simulations you will love this game. The graphics are great and driving around is loads of fun. You can't use all the cars at first, because you have to earn them, but earning them is just as fun as driving around. You can cruise around or you can race. This is a great game

I agree there could be more towns to drive in, and more cars, still don't kid yourself...THIS IS THE BEST CAR GAME OUT THERE ! The best for sear fun, and one of the only ones even a three year old can play without help! (My 3 year old loves it! )You don't even need to race, just driving around hitting cars and stuff and scaring people is a blast! Graphics are great, and being able to drive so freely beats Need for Speed and the rest by miles. I gave this a 5 ONLY BECAUSE YOU DO NOT HAVE A HIGHER RATING! If you want THE BEST, and want PURE FUN....THEN BUY THIS !

This game did not fuction on my k6-3 450, 128MB ram, and STB velocity 4400 video card. It was dropping frames even with all the bells and whistles set as low as possible. When i purchased my 3dfx voodoo 3000 video card, the game really came to life. Now I can play MM with all features on and no frames dropped. It is awesome. I love this driving sim and you will too. Just make sure your computer can handle it. Ignore the minimum requirements stated by the software company. They are far too low.
