3.0 out of 5 stars Very affordable but a little outdated.
I bought this for a university course, thinking that it would be similar to the newer ones. I liked that it was so affordable; however, being that it's from 2003, some stuff are a little outdated. I recommend buying the 2007 or current one, if you are planning to purchase an office book.

For each project, it walks you step-by-step through the entire process, which is very helpful for thise that have no clue how to navigate through the menus, shortcuts, or icons. It does a good job on breaking each of the concepts and capabilities of each application for a first-time learner. I think it's way too expensive though for the what it offers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Examples and Easy to Follow, May 22, 2009
This is a very well written book and has easy to follow examples. I have used several books in the past for reference however this is one of the best that explains computers. I am using this to take a class in college and I have used a computer now for 15 years and I am amazed at the little things I am learning. This is the perfect book for people who are just starting out and also good for people like myself to learn new tricks and tips.

4.0 out of 5 stars great book, February 7, 2009
loved this book. This is the workbook with all of the explainations on how to actually use the programs. I will keep this book until no one uses Office 03 anymore! This was a required book for class. It served its purpose. I like the spiral bound book better its easier to use at the computer.
