Great for Beginners,
By
This review is from: Microsoft Office 2003: Introductory Concepts and Techniques (Shelly Cashman) (Spiral-bound)
I had to order this book for a college course even though I've been in this profession for about 9 years now. This book is organized by the applications that make up the Office suite. For each project, it walks you step-by-step through the entire process, which is very helpful for thise that have no clue how to navigate through the menus, shortcuts, or icons. It does a good job on breaking each of the concepts and capabilities of each application for a first-time learner. I think it's way too expensive though for the what it offers.

Great Examples and Easy to Follow,
By
This review is from: Microsoft Office 2003: Introductory Concepts and Techniques (Paperback)
This is a very well written book and has easy to follow examples. I have used several books in the past for reference however this is one of the best that explains computers. I am using this to take a class in college and I have used a computer now for 15 years and I am amazed at the little things I am learning. This is the perfect book for people who are just starting out and also good for people like myself to learn new tricks and tips.

I bought this for a university course, thinking that it would be similar to the newer ones. I liked that it was so affordable; however, being that it's from 2003, some stuff are a little outdated. I recommend buying the 2007 or current one, if you are planning to purchase an office book.

The book is well written providing indepth discussion of techniques necessary to understand the principles of the various components of Microsoft Office. The Student Companion Disk provides practice further discussion of techniques thru on screen direction. Subsequent practice of the techniques solidifies the learniing and use of the principles discussed in the text. Program is "User Friendly", easy to comprehend, quickly mastered, and useful to both the beginner and advanced student.

loved this book. This is the workbook with all of the explainations on how to actually use the programs. I will keep this book until no one uses Office 03 anymore! This was a required book for class. It served its purpose. I like the spiral bound book better its easier to use at the computer.
