4.0 out of 5 stars Microsoft Office 2007: Brief Concepts and Techniques, September 25, 2010

This review is from: Microsoft Office 2007: Brief Concepts and Techniques (Shelly Cashman Series) (Paperback)
The book was in good condition as stated. There was some confusion over the title, however, and due to one missing word "Introductory" I ended up with the wrong book. I needed a couple more chapters. Otherwise, it had what it was advertised as. I ended up having to buy another book to have those chapters, so if anyone else is taking a class on Microsoft Office I suggest you get the "Introductory Concepts and Techniques". None of the ISBN numbers matched what was given by the school.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for the inexperienced, tedious for others, February 15, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is just a quick review:

I helped teach a course in which this book was used. The professor assigned chapters to work through and assignments from the end of the chapters. Students who were inexperienced with computers found the minute detail in the directions to be very helpful. However, any students who had experience or an aptitude for computers were a little frustrated. Thankfully, the topics are clearly identified by section titles, so they can work quickly if they want.

Overall, it is a good book for beginners and teaching the inexperienced. I would recommend a more advanced book (and one with a little less detail) for those with some experience.

4.0 out of 5 stars Learned Alot, May 31, 2011

Required text for a college course I am taking - learned a lot about the Microsoft Office Suite of products that I hadn't known prior - in fact it landed me a promotion at my current employer. Would recommend to anyone who is looking to practice or learn new skills in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, word or Access.
