2.0 out of 5 stars GREAT BOOK.. JUST NOT THE ONE FOR ME..
Basically the book's great! It has EVERY DETAILS FOR BASIC THINGS that you need to know about Vista, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Acces.

I am using it for my BIT class. However, for me this book sucks! I do not even enjoy my BIT class anymore. Everything that is in this book, I already have it in my brain. This book is great for people who do not know how...

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Book, October 23, 2010

VERY helpful. IF you are trying to learn how to use the windows, this is the book. I recommend itfor the business person who needs to learn how to use like word, excel, access, and others. If you're an older age and you just want to learn how to do it for a job or just becuase, this is an easy read and easy to understand

I needed this for an introductory computing class. Having been around computers for many years it was a little too simplified for me but for someone who just got their first computer it would be a good book. The exercises in the book would really help a beginning computer user.

This book is great for people who do not know how to make a new folder with vista or if you do not know how to make a new MS Word document.

If you are using MS Office for your everyday life.. Then you'd say that this book SUCKS.. really.. it is just like that yellow book called FOR DUMMIES.. as long as you're not a dummy, you dont need this book!!

Oh and another thing.. I have been looking for the key answer for this book.. but there is no such thing as a key answer. The author probably did not make one.

Yes, I said that this book is for dummies, why am I looking for the answer key? Because I do not want to waste my time answering stupid questions, it would be better to just copy those answers with out wasting my time. I could use my time to make another homework like math, etc rather than using it for answering silly questions.

For those who love this book, I'm so sorry, no offense.. Thanks!

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't Bother, October 8, 2010
This review is from: Microsoft Office 2007: Essential Concepts and Techniques (Shelly Cashman) (Paperback)
Pretty worthless. Save yourself ~50 dollars and just use Google or Microsoft's official documentation if you need a reference.

The book does have a lot of helpful diagrams, but the text is *really* small and very hard to read, so lots of things are not nearly as useful as they should be. I'm also not sure what market this is supposed to be for. Feels a little too hard for elementary school students, who would probably benefit most from this kind of training. It might be alright for a middle school class, if a bit on the easy side.

I got this book for class. It saved me a ton of money and is in excellent condition. It arrived sooner than I thought it would. I had no problems whatsoever.
