This single-volume paperback is packed with so much information! Did you know, for instance, that Microsoft Word 2007 contains the built-in capability of converting a document into the .pdf format? Or that you can use readability statistics to determine what grade level your writing is at?

Microsoft Word 2007 can be used to create flyers. Instructions are given for producing color headlines, various heading formats, theme colors, and picture borders.

There are options for using predefined text and graphical elements, and there are instructions for the production of such things as research papers, tables, form letters, mailing labels, and directories. You can also make use of cover-letter and resume templates. Macros can be custom-made to "automate" a repeated task. Instructions are even given for the creation of a blog post.

The book is profusely illustrated. It contains many screen sketches that show what the scroll-down tabs, and computer screen, look like during the operations that are discussed. An extensive index is also available.

I needed some vocational rehab as I am trying to overcome Chemo Brain. So, I bought this well written easy to follow, step by step process to learn MOW2007. Some of the labs require access to files that need additional software to complete. However, You can do the exercises without the files and learn so much more without them. I am pleased with the things that I am still learning and appreciate the quick access index at the back of the book.

After installing Word 2007 for the first time, I absolutely hated it. I uninstalled it and set it aside. More recently I became aware of some advantages to the totally revamped, unintuitive version of Word 2007. The Shelly Cashman book is an excellent tutorial with cookbook exercises that clarify the functionality. Lessons are spelled out in detail and require no help. Now if I can just remember what's where, I am good to go!

I ordered the book on Dec 1,2010 & on Dec 24th it was delivered, the date was suspose to be on Dec 19th via email. It was sent out on the 10th of Dec. I can look past that after all its Christmas & mail is slow. I did not need it till Jan 4,2011. The book its self is deplorable shape. The cover was ripped in two different places. Ink marks (red & black )threw out the book, if its not highlighted. I could look past the food stains & left over crumbs. But the best part of it was & is its full of ashes from cigerettes & I'm a non smoker. The first week I had the book it could not come in my home. I would not buy from this company again. I paid for an excellant shape book. I have been sadly mistaken. I cannot get any response from the supplier. All I wanted to do was exchange the book for another in excellant condition. Good Luck to whom ever buys from this company!!!! This product is not something a person in a regular office uses. It should be be mandtaory for all business students to take.

The Shelly Cashman Series is very good to learn and to teach Microsoft products. You do encounter the occasional mistake or ambiguous directions, but overall they are the best textbooks for Microsoft products I have used.

The book that I received overall was in good shape. I just wish it had had the CD with it, but I was pleased with what I got. And the item was shipped promptly and packaged appropriately. The person who sent me the book was also very courteous and sent me an email that he had sent the book and told me when it should arrive so that I could watch for its arrival.Thank you again for excellent service as usual.

I never received the book, I think it was lost in the mail. The customer service was great and they refund my money immediately.
