About the Author

Carl is a principal content project manager at Microsoft. In this role Carl oversees development of assistance material, UI text and web content for a variety of V.1 products and services. Carl also teaches software user assistance in the Human Centered Design and Engineering department at the University of Washington. Carl is a graduate of the Master's program in Technical Communication at the University of Washington and is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute. Tim's first connection with Project began as a product support professional at Microsoft, starting with Project 3.0. The accompanying text, On Time, On Track & On Target, provides the complet foundation to PMP (Project Management Principles).
This text is clearly a PMP management base course.
I personally however enjoy a great deal more interaction between software and information.

Easy to use and learn, it even shows you pictures of the icons you're looking for when you need to find them. Written in a manner that is easy to read and makes it easy to learn.

The Microsoft Project Management Toolkit: Microsoft Office Project 2003 Step by Step and On Time! On Track! On Target!: Microsoft(r) Office Project 2003 ... on Time! on Track! on Target! (Bpg -- Other).

The package I bought is a combo, a toolkit and it should have arrived with two books in one package: "The Microsoft Project Management Toolkit: Microsoft Office Project 2003 Step by Step" (one book), and "On Time! On Track! On Target!: Microsoft(r) Office Project 2003 ... on Time! on Track! on Target!" (one book). Unfortunately only the latter arrived and Amazon has not returned to me with any explanation why the toolkit is uncomplelte.

Regarding the second book, "On Time! On Track! On Target!: Microsoft(r) Office Project 2003 ... on Time! on Track! on Target!", I must say it is one of the best books I have ever read about the subject. Complete in it's range of subjetcs and with a CD, it is one of the most valuable sources to Project management available yet.[[
