User-friendly, great for everyone-even beginners!,

I have been using Publisher (in its various incarnations) for several years now. One thing that I really like about this particular version is that you can edit a text box in Word. This sounds very complex, but it makes life very easy when you need to use a list with bullets, and can't get the spacing to work in just Publisher. That feature is a really nice addition.
Even though I usually create my own greeting cards, I really like the quick layouts. When I'm crunched for time, Publisher 2003 makes it very easy to print the right card and make it your own. As far as graphics go, you have access to a huge collection of graphics from the Office clip art website. I have found graphics for every occassion, and then some! Above all, Publisher 2003 is quite easy to use. The program offers a good "help" section with tips, suggestions and solutions to your questions.

Still Not a Professional Program,

No save to PDF feature.
No save to EPS feature. Don't let all the bells and whistles fool you... if you plan on taking your files to a printshop be sure they FULLY support Microsoft programs before you buy this program because it can cause a myriad of problems when outputting to postscript RIP devices such as image setters. Until Microsoft fully understands the printing process, this program should be used primarily by people who will be printing to a home desktop printer.

I'm not a computer guru so needless to say I was a bit apprehensive at first to do our church newsletter using this program. But to my surprise, it was very easy. Everything is laid out for you. I just love it!

Publisher 2003,

I have been a user of Publisher since the first version came out! Amazingly enough back then local printers would cringe if you told them you use Publisher, today most all use it as well. It is quite user friendly - the first version I taught myself how to use because I did not have a manual! I was happy to hear that this version was available and also learned through my sister - who was a first time user - that the web site wizard is phenomenal when trying to create a website! I would recommend this program to anyone who needs to create anything on a computer. Kudos to Publisher!

If you are looking to create brochures, newsletters, calendars, etc. and can use any of the Microsoft applications, Publisher is the tool for you! I've used Publisher at work for the last five years and finally purchased for home use and I'm glad I did. I plan on using it for family projects and holiday cards and greetings. Publisher is worth the price.

Still Has Bug(s),

I just wanted to add that Microsoft has still not fixed the bug that screws-up Transparency/Opacity. Want a graphic to show through? Too bad, it appears solid. Same bug in PowerPoint, too.

Publisher 2003 not as good as predecessor,

I purchased this Publisher upgrade because I lost my previous version of Publisher. I love Publisher, but this version for me was not as good as the old one. It is not as user-friendly. For example, In "view" I used to be able to "Go to Background", and vice versa. It was an easier way of using backgrounds. That feature is gone. There are other features that are not as good and most importantly, I was expecting improvements and don't see any.

MS Publisher 2003 - Difficult to use,

MS Publisher 2003 is exceptionally difficult to use compared with MS Publisher 97. User and/or instructional manuals are missing or inadequate.

Great looks and ergonomics but end result is nada,

The out of the box MP 2003 templates for print and web publishing are excellent and easy enough to manage but trying to get them online is an absoltue nightmare. Files become corrupted easily and directories get run through the grinder, so by the time you're ready to bring up your web site online it's become an FTP rat's nest. I've worked w/ 3 major host services and none of us could get an MP2003 generated site to work w/ all indexes, images and text attached and/or pointed in the right direction. I would go w/ the free Nvu.com software for a more stable web site creation. Code layout is easier to follow.

I have been using Publisher 98 for some years and decided to upgrade to 2003. I have never had any problems with 98 and been very satisfied. Publisher 2003 is a whole different ballgame. I purchased it because of the webpage publishing and found that I could not successfully publish using 2003. I worked with a Microsoft specialist for over 2 weeks and we could not get the software to work properly. For me, Publisher 2003 is useless. I have gone back to using the old version and have absolutely no problems publishing my webpage to the internet.
