I am the Team Leader of the New Technology Team for a Major Telecommunications Corp. responsible for researching, testing and training other technicians on the new features of (Windows 2000) and I found this book to be an excellent source of information pertaining to the installation, understanding & administration of Windows 2000.

This book (Windows 2000 Beta Training Kit) details the new features of Windows 2000, "Step by step" and includes "Hands On Practice", "Review questions" and "best practices", which are all very important for technicians and users. It is full of lesson summaries and configuration instructions which clearly explain and instruct the user both novice and advanced "How to perform administrative tasks. I , being a instructor of Network Engineer professionals personally "HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book to the students in my Network Engineering class and to Industry professionals as a great first step towards understanding the new features of Windows 2000 and how to implement them in a Networking environment.

This book is essentially the Student & Lab Workbooks for the Microsoft course #1265 - "Installing and Administering Microsoft NT 5.0 (beta 3)", a 5 day instructor lead course. The only problem is that the beta 3 CD-ROM is NOT included with the book. So you'll need to get a copy of the Windows 2000 Server beta 3 software, in order to do the lab exercises. Surprisingly, the book doesn't provide any clue on how you can get a hold of the beta 3 software! Fortunately, Microsoft has announced elsewhere that we can order Windows 2000 beta 3 through the "Windows 2000 Corporate Preview Program".

This book was very good, I am now dual booting with my Win98SE and Win2000 Server RC2 using Fat32. The only thing missing to make this book a 5 star was they should of included a copy of Win2000 Beta because there were a lot of lab practices at end of every chapter.

You know the windows 2000 is great differ with windows 98, this book will give you good guide for learn windows 2000 ,specify to the people who not speak english. I think ,if you want to get MCSE or MCSD ,you must look this book.

This book is a must if you are going to setup Windows 2000 Server, or Windows 2000 Professional. It has all of the information you will need, and a bunch more, the price is a little high, but it is well worth it!
