5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book For Technical Backgound
I know it wasn't the best thing to do on a beautiful Easter
afternoon, but I had a wonderful time yesterday browsing
through this new book, "The WinXP Power Pack". Its fantastic!
It is really going to help me in my support of XP. I also
installed the trial version of "I Hate Spam" and ended up
buying a license the next day...

Like many books on Windows it is too caught up in describing what everthing is without providing any examples of how to use the things described. I had expected a lot from this book, but it failed to deliver. Like many books on Windows it is too caught up in describing what everthing is without providing any examples of how to use the things described. I have been running Window XP/Pro since it's release and found this book unable to help me with a single issue that had been bugging me. It wasn't useful for performance tuning or networking help. If you want a description of what everyhing is, then this is for you. If you want to actually accomplish something and use the tools then you will have to look elsewhere.
