I had an Acer Aspire for about 7 years and i must say i never had one problem with it, the hard drive however did get a virus on it and had to be replaced, but that was my fault, not the computers. Also don't let people tell you that you HAVE to have a Pentium or AMD processor, Celerons are just as efficient, and frankly i've been around computers for many years and can't even tell the difference. There is also plenty of Acer software to mess with including, NTI CD-DVD creator, which in my opinion is way better than Nero. The BIOS is very accessible as well, you can turn down the amount of RAM you wish to share with the ATI Radeon graphics card, which increases your performance a bit, then when your ready to game just crank it back up. I myself will probably get a little more RAM just to make it that much quicker. And who cares if you can't turn the game resolution up so high that it blows eyes out of there sockets, if your looking for that just go by an Xbox 360 or wait for the PS3 and Nintendo Revolution, games on this system are very playable. This is just an all around great computer, its actually a steal for this price. So don't go with what everyone else is having, HP, Emachines(which is crap), Sony, etc. Go against the grain and stick with Acer, it will stick with your for many years to come. Also i shouldnt neglect to mention that this computer has HYPER-THREADIING, check the BIOS and see. Computers easily cost 800+ with HT technology in them. Also the hiss on the speakers i use is louder than the PC itself, very impressed costumer here. I had an Emachines which i gladly sent back to TD, it was junk, LOUD, cheaply made, and the DVD burner would'nt burn ziltch. This is a great computer at a great price. And its Brand NEW not refurbed.
