5.0 out of 5 stars Great Mouse!
Bought this yesterday for my laptop so I can play games easier. I had a few colors to pick from, has a back button which is great to have and no junk software to install. Just plug the receiver into any usb port in a Windows machine and Windows automatically recognizes it. It was pretty accurate as well even on a carpet! Ergonomically it fits very comfortably in the palm...

3.0 out of 5 stars A Decent Wireless Mouse
When I first bought one of these, I found that I really liked this mouse. It has a small footprint which is great if you don't have a lot of room to move the mouse. Also the driver software, that you can download, is pretty comprehensive for a mouse. You have an incredible number of options for all the buttons, in addition to pointer options, scroll options, etc. It also...

If you are looking for a comfortable good looking mouse for a laptop this is it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great little mouse for the price, December 3, 2008

The look and feel of this mouse are great. My only complaint is that the back button is in an inconvenient location. I have to take my hand completely off the mouse, look for the button, and then click it. A side button would have been better.

5.0 out of 5 stars BACK BUTTON!, January 27, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I purchased this mouse knowing that Microsoft Mice are durable and work well. When I actually opened the package I was delightfully surprised to find that on this mouse, right behind the scroll wheel there is a fourth button that is used to go "Back" in browsers. I love it!

3.0 out of 5 stars A Decent Wireless Mouse, May 8, 2009

When I first bought one of these, I found that I really liked this mouse. It has a small footprint which is great if you don't have a lot of room to move the mouse. Also the driver software, that you can download, is pretty comprehensive for a mouse. You have an incredible number of options for all the buttons, in addition to pointer options, scroll options, etc. It also has a tab that provides battery strength and wireless signal strength. I was so pleased with this mouse that I even bought a second one for another computer.

And now for the bad: One day the mouse on my XP machine starting acting strange. Bringing up the wireless tab, I noticed that one moment I had full signal strength and next moment the signal strength was weak causing erratic mouse operation. I tried all the usual troubleshooting techniques such as reset the USB dongle and mouse, plugging and unplugging the dongle. I even moved the mouse within one foot line of sight with the USB dongle, and it still didn't work right. I moved the mouse to another computer and it worked fine. Hmmm. About two weeks later the mouse on my Vista machine started displaying the same symptoms but not as bad. The mouse was erratic but still usable. After about two days, the mouse starting working fine even though I didn't do a thing. It has worked fine ever since - now several weeks. Hmmm. If it was an interference issue, I have no idea what was causing it. The wireless operation of my router is turned off and no cordless phones were in use.
Other than this oscillatory issue with the signal quality, I have generally liked these mice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Compact and easy to use!, May 23, 2009
Exactly what we needed, this small, inexpensive wireless mouse works perfectly. Installation was a breeze (just plugged in the USB dongle and Vista found it immediately), and the small form factor is great for our kids and my wife - all of whom have smaller hands.

Battery life is very good, and the color is interesting without being obnoxious.

It's a bit small for my hands, but we didn't get it for use by full sized adult hands. For our purposes and application, this is a great buy!

4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully portable, January 6, 2009
This product is pretty great. The fact that the USB transmitter snaps into the mouse and turns it off is great. I am not worried about it turning on in my laptop bag and the batteries last a long time. The only downside is that the mouse shape itself can be a little uncomfortable to hold (It has a really high arch shape.) But other than that it is great!

4.0 out of 5 stars Happy with it!, April 29, 2009
GOOD: Bought this for use with my laptop. Easy to start using, just plug into USB port. It is nice being able to shut it off by simply putting USB plug into bottom of mouse. Back button nice. Scrolls easy. Only problem has been when sitting on my couch and using an odd angle between mouse and USB.
BAD: Would have prefered USB plug was perfectly square...has a slight curve out and will block another USB port depending on where I plug it in. Does not want to work on rough surfaces, must have smooth surface..notepad, mousepad, wooden desk...not a huge deal though.

1.0 out of 5 stars Won't stay synch'd, February 1, 2010
By
This review is from: Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 3000 - Black (Personal Computers)
I needed a new mouse. Since my system unit is close to my keyboard, I would have been happy with a wired mouse, but they're thin on the ground these days. So I chose this one. I plugged the receiver into one of the four USB ports on the back of the machine (the other three are occupied by my two printers and a USB keyboard). The pointer and scroll wheel were very jerky, and I had to click several times to get the buttons to work. I tried re-synching, but that didn't help. I moved the receiver to one of the two front panel USB ports - not ideal, because now the thing sticks out of the front of the machine - but at least it worked smoothly as expected. A day or two later, though, the jerky peformance returned. I re-synched it and it worked fine. But since then, I need to re-synch every couple of days. I don't know if it's a problem with the mouse or some sort of incompatibility with my machine (Compaq 2 mH Sempron, 2 mB memory running Windows XP SP3), but it's pretty annoying.

Edit a few months later: it's the distance. When they say the range is 3 feet, they mean 3 feet in thin air, not 3 feet with a keyboard tray in between. My system unit is in a bin at the left side of my desk. With the reciever on the front panel, my mouse is exactly 2 feet, 2 - 5 inches from the receiver. If I move it 3 inches further away, it loses contact. I need to turn my keyboard at an angle to keep the mouse within working distance. It's annoying as hell having to click three or four times before it registers, or push the keyboard out of the way to move the mouse closer to the receiver. I'm dumping it and buying something else. Unless you keep your system unit right on your desk or under your monitor where the USB port is only a foot or so from the mouse, forget this item.

Tracks on many surfaces, nice feature with the detachable USB receiver, a great performer so far.

Yes, I'd recommend this mouse. I use it with my laptop.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst Mouse I Ever Bought, December 16, 2009
By
This review is from: Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 3000 - Black (Personal Computers)
I've owned lots of mouses, but this mouse is not good for laptops. If it's for a desktop, then it's great, but if you intend to get this for a laptop, save your money. It's very picky. What I mean is this: It has the usb plug that you plug into your laptop, and if this plug is touched even slightly, then the mouse stops working and if you have to unplug it, then plug it back in, and wait a minute while it connects to the mouse again before you can use it. This is very irritating for people who use their laptops in bed. If you move around on your bed just slightly for whatever reason (stretch your legs etc.), then the bed touching the plug will cause the mouse to stop working. I have to unplug and plug this thing back in at least 20 times a day. Im going to go buy a better mouse tomorrow. I forgot the names of the other ones I've had, but I've never had a mouse that's so picky like this one when it comes to the usb plug. Avoid it if you have a laptop.
