4.0 out of 5 stars Microsoft Wireless Desktop 5000, February 24, 2006

I bought this and it worked very well at first. I got it for school work, technical major, and gaming. The mouse is excellent. However after a couple months of use a problem with the keyboard developed. When you hold down the keys the repeat will cease functioning randomly and you have to repress the key. Since it does not take long for this to happen sometimes (maybe a second or so) it becomes very annoying in gaming. This is probably a rare problem but I have read of it happening to other people. I just thought I'd put out a general warning.

5.0 out of 5 stars microsoft 5000 optical mouse & keyboard, November 1, 2005

Both handle really well. The built in magnifier was a plus, but the way that the mouse handles and feels is the feature that really has me hooked. It's really comfortable to use if you are on the computer for long periods of time-your hand doesn't cramp up. Of all the mice & keyboards that I've used, I'd have to say that this set is the best.

As another reviewer mentioned, the keys sometimes stop repeating when you're holding them down. This is really annoying when playing a game or navigating with the arrow keys.

The mouse is superb, though, and the other aspects of the keyboard are great. I would give it five stars if it weren't for the repeat problem.
