Bargain Wireless Mouse,
By
This review is from: Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse - Black (Personal Computers)
If you need a basic mouse (no extra buttons or features) and you want wireless, then this mouse is a great deal. When I bought it, it was cheaper than the similar Microsoft mouse with a cord. So I bought a couple more. I haven't had it long enough to gauge battery life, so that might be an issue. But so far it works fine. The pointer motion doesn't seem as smooth as my previous corded mouse, but that may be something that's inherent in all cordless mice. I have a Kensington cordless on another machine and it feels the same.

The best I've tried,

This review is from: Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse - Black (Personal Computers)
I just received this mouse today, so I have no idea how it will perform over time. However, having used cordless mice before, I am VERY happy with this particular one. It has the exact same shape and feel as the Logitech corded optical mouse that came with my Dell a year ago. It's sleek, and even with two AA batteries, isn't too heavy, as some cordless mice are.
I find it very accurate and very responsive. It performs at least as well as any corded mice I've used over the years. I have the base unit positioned about 18-20 inches away from the mouse itself, and it is NOT in direct line of sight. You can't beat the price, the shape and feel of the mouse is excellent, and so far the performance is top notch!

Quickly broke; no response from Microsoft,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse - Black (Personal Computers)
After only a few weeks of use, this mouse began to act strangely: random disconnects, spots of lag, and other odd occurences. Soon after the initial problems it completely broke and stopped working. I tried different kinds of fresh batteries and plugged it into several different PCs to no avail. It hasn't worked since.
An e-mail to Microsoft months ago elicited no response. Even before it broke, it wasn't that good of a mouse. Don't waste your money.
