Product Description

This easy to use 5 inch square flower press dries and presses a wide range of flowers, leaves and other flora in seconds to minutes depending on the power of your microwave and the type of flora being pressed. To dry flowers you place them between two fabric liners, two pads and two perforated platens-all supplied. This sandwich is held together with two heavy-duty clips. Then all you do is pop the flower press in your microwave, turn it on high and let the moisture be drawn out. You'll love it because of the control you retain over pressing, the fast results you get and the better color retention. The dried flowers can be incorporated into scrapbooking, greeting cards, pictures, bookmarks, invitations, decoupage, menus, candles, soap, etc. The quality of this press is impressive as it uses heavy-duty, well-made parts throughout. The cotton liners can be washed repeatedly and the pads will last for hundreds of cycles. In addition there is a booklet with six pages of thorough instructions and suggestions. This flower press is a great gift to yourself or to someone special. In this offer you get one brand new, complete flower press kit. Flower Speed Drying September 14, 2008
Of all the art making tools I own, outside of a sharp exacto blade, this one gets the most use. I frequently make cards with dried flowers and leaves and love the ability to pick something and use it the same day. It can take a while to master the power of an individual microwave, but once that is understood the Microwave Flower Press makes short work of flower drying. Some flowers are better than others for drying. White flowers, for example, are easy to scorch and take careful watching. Flowers with thick centers like daisies need to have the delicate petals protected with damp paper or cloth while the center dries completely but even "mistakes" can turn into lovely art. This is a terrific product, well worth the cost. Papermaker,Lynne M.

This video demonstrates how to use the Microwave Flower Press, as well as covering my thoughts on the tool. First, this is a small tool so it is best for people like myself who want only a small quantity of dried botanics at a time. I use the pressed flowers and leaves for hand made cards, scrapbooking and other paper crafts. Right now, I am drying the leaves of a shamrock to put on a St. Patrick's Day card. Those who want larger quantities would be advised to purchase the larger version of the press.

Secondly, you do have to experiment with the tool until you develop a sense for the amount of drying time needed in the oven. This will vary, of course, depending on the power of the oven and the size, shape, thickness and moisture content of the flowers and leaves being dried. If you leave it in the microwave too long, the leaves will be over dried and crumbly.

Also, the fabric in the machine will stain badly with use. I suppose you could replace it but the way I look at it is, why bother? I don't care that it stains.

All in all, its a good tool and I would recommend it.

This flower press is great! Before we had this, my three-year-old daughter had to wait a long time for her flowers to press and dry in our big dictionary. Now the flowers are ready in less than 30 minutes!

Good for what it does
This press is very small so doing multiple flowers seems to be an endless task. However if color is very important, then this is the press to use. Read more

I absolutely love it! Pressing flowers are so much easier using this item and the colors do not fade like when you press between pages of a book.
