4.0 out of 5 stars Showing age but great reference
These books were printed between 1981 and 1986 so some of the methods discussed are no longer in use. Overall I find these books to be the best reference.

They are out of print here but you can purchase them directly from the publisher at a reasonable price [...]

2.0 out of 5 stars Unclear Explanations, not for first timers
Using this book for a RADARS course, me and my friends find that this book is really unclear and poorly written. The author likes to twist words around blurring the explanations. Using this book for a RADARS course, me and my friends find that this book is really unclear and poorly written. The author likes to twist words around blurring the explanations. The author does presents ideas in a more colloquial style which makes it easier to read, however I find it unhelpful in anyways to understanding concepts. The author should really learn from Jackson (Classical EM) in ways to present concepts precisely. Another problem: The author refers readers to Vol 1 of this series of books, which does not help because at ~ $$$ perbook, students won't be spending the extra $ to get his Vol 1.

I think this book would serve well as a reference for those who have background in RADARS. If you are starting off learning RADARS, this book is not a good idea. Sidenote: Fortunately our professor does a good job complementing this book by adding more explanations and examples.

4.0 out of 5 stars Textbook, April 13, 2000

This book was used as a textbook for a graduate level course I took at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I found it very readable considering the subject.
