5.0 out of 5 stars perfect
This is truly a gorgeous instrument. The picture really does not do it justice. You will be surprised when you see it person because its a slightly deeper color and is VERY large. I read in a review of a different one by this seller that the metal piece that connects the ocarina to the leather cord is really cheap..It's true. I didn't want to take the risk of mine...

2.0 out of 5 stars Badly off tune.
The sound and construction is acceptable. It would make an okay beginner interment I guess.

I bought it to play along with guitar and other flutes and that's impossible because it isn't in tune. The product description calls it D, while the tonic actually falls about 40 cents flat of E, so not only is it not D, its really not anything. By adjusting breath...

I bought it to play along with guitar and other flutes and that's impossible because it isn't in tune. The product description calls it D, while the tonic actually falls about 40 cents flat of E, so not only is it not D, its really not anything. By adjusting breath force I can bring it up to around an even E, but by then I'm blowing into it so hard the tone becomes very unpleasant, particularly at octave. It was cheap so I'm keeping it for messing around solo, but to sell me a instrument tuned off by almost 2 semitones is pretty shady.

I read in a review of a different one by this seller that the metal piece that connects the ocarina to the leather cord is really cheap..It's true. I didn't want to take the risk of mine breaking like theirs did and i put it on a completely different cord with a small ring to connect them. Atleast now i dont have to worry about it falling to its death. So you're probably wondering how it sounds? Amazing. Granted you have some strong lungs to keep it going:)

5.0 out of 5 stars a great pendant ocarina!, June 5, 2010

This is a beautiful ocarina with an amazing sound, the leather strap is of good quality and I definitely suggest this ocarina especially if you`re a beginner. The metal piece attaching the ocarina to the strap can come apart, and luckily from reading another review I found out about how when you first wear it around your neck that cheap little metal piece will come apart sending a beautiful instrument to its doom(to prevent it from coming off take a pair of pliers and squeeze it so it stays together and then it`s perfectly fine.)I love my ocarina! However, if you are serious about playing this instrument, than i strongly recommend it because its very nice clay that is perfect for anyone who knows, wants to know and just wants to have fun!

This Ocarina is wonderful. Mind you it is very simple. It is everything the description details however so you are not getting anything you are not expecting.

The one I received plays in D Sharp.
It came exactly as pictured and is beautifully made.
It is larger than expected which is definitely not a bad thing.
Overall, A good stylish ocarina for a beginner.

Top Notch

5.0 out of 5 stars ..., June 17, 2011

So, this was my first ever ocarina. When it arrived, I quickly took it out of the box, and proceeded to try it out. It sounded off...too me, I was expecting it to sounds...different. However, since then I have learned that this ocarina sounds like it's suppose to sound. a little on the higher end. Eventually, I was very satisfied with the product, and wore it around everywhere I went. That is until my 2 year old daughter became obsessed with it herself, and ended up dropping it on the hardwood floor. Chances are, yours won't survive that fall either. Fragile. Not a bad thing though. Just not for children. Although, that became obvious the minute you get it.

It came right on time and sounds great. Lightweight and in a deep blue.
Over all, this is a great product for the price.
