It's a huge box and weighs a lot. I lived in a downstairs apartment. The box was damaged, as if it was thrown down the stairs. It was partially open and tapped together in parts. Some of the metal was poking through the box and was obviously damaged. That's just the box itself.
After opening the box I noticed that the product itself required some bending back in to place. There was no time to send this back, as my lil boy was becoming a big boy and needed this like yesterday. So I grabbed my 26oz. hammer and some plyers and proceeded with straightining the damaged areas out. After a few hours I was able to put the crate together. The reason that I'm giviing this a 3 star is because this product was so tough to bend back, which also means that it'll be tough to bend out of shape. If it weren't for it's strength I'd give it a 1 or 2.
It's also not overly challanging to assemble. It does require some floor space though. Enough room on the floor to at least lay down the bottom and the side next to each other. We've moved since purchase and the take down and re-assembly were quick. Still heavy, but so is my boy. The weight and size make it very challanging to relocate on carpet. So if you are one that likes to re-arrange your living quarters, and are placing this on carpet, then beware that it's going to be more of a task than not.
So, it's a great product and easily assembled, just requiring the space to do so. I'm very upset with the delivered condition and wish that I wasn't in such dire need to use this. I would've sent it back with a nasty-gram. Well my 38" tall at the shoulder, 145+lb., 10 month old male great dane is getting some good use out of it and hasn't escaped yet. ;-)
My only, non-shipping, complaint is that the set-up is what it is and you can't change the orientation of the door panels. So you have to sit it in a place that the doors work. I wanted to place it in one corner facing one way and couldn't because the doors are where they are. Not a big deal, and surely not a deal breaker. Also keep this away from the walls/anything by a few inches, preferably 6 inches. This slots are large enough to allow for your pup to lick/chew/paw/scratch anything within reach (the kids are guilty of this), and anything placed on top of it (the wifey and I are guilty of this).
conclusion: A must have for any Giant Breed owners, maybe through a different vendor. Would've bought it from a store if they carried it in stock. Usually a special order item, so plan on this product and don't wait for the last minute to purchase, as I did. :-(
