The perfect dog crate, January 18, 2011
This review is from: MidWest Solutions 2 Door Large Dog Crate (Misc.)
This crate is awesome. Its big enough and has enough space that I don't feel bad when I have to leave my dog in there for more than 3 hours.

Midwest Crate good, shipping bad!, April 17, 2008
This review is from: MidWest Solutions 2 Door Large Dog Crate (Misc.)
Ordered this product through Amazon, but dealt directly with Revival Animal Health. The product shipped in a very timely fashion, directly from the manufacturer - Midewest, but the shipping itself leaves a lot to be desired!! The crate arrived bent, the crate pan was crushed and there were no drop pins. However, Nancy at Revival was great and got Midwest to ship another crate. Unfortunately, the second crate arrived in worse condition than the first!!. Again, Nancy at Revival came through for me and got Midwest to send out a new crate pan and drop pin, so I managed to get one good crate out of the two bent ones. The crate itself is fine, but try to ensure that Fed Ex is not the shipper!!

It's large enough for me and my Great Dane, January 26, 2012
This review is from: MidWest Solutions 2 Door Large Dog Crate (Misc.)
I needed a larger crate for my Great Dane puppy since at 6 months and 90 pounds, he has outgrown his 42" crate. To avoid having to buy a third crate, I figured I'd just get the largest crate I could find, and this is it! It's pretty sturdy, fairly easy to assemble and it comes with a tray that makes most others look like flimsy aluminum foil pans.
I did not purchase this crate from amazon or one of their vendors. I could not wait and I didn't want to risk shipping damage. My pup is growing too fast to wait another week or two for a bigger home due to the hassle of shipping damaged goods back to the sender. It did cost me more locally (Petsmart), but I purchased the exact same model and am honestly impressed with the product.
You will need help moving the box! It is heavy.
I moved it myself for the most part, but I don't recommend moving or assembling this crate without some help.
Packaging is what it is...a cardboard box. Nothing extravagant or fancy.
The instructions are decent enough to leave you guessing only on a couple of things. They could have been better. Maybe more concise pictures or illustrations, but overall not too difficult to understand.
The crate seems to be constructed very well and assembly is very simple once you figure out which piece goes where, and how it goes there. It would be a good idea to have some help during assembly. Even if it is someone to just hold one of the pieces up while you attach something else. I did it by myself and it wasn't very difficult. Took me about 30 minutes of fumbling and contorting. Had I some help, it would have taken a lot less time! Charlie (my crate inhabitant) was trying to help assemble his new house, but found that he hampered progress more than helped. He opted to watch from the open door of his old crate until I was done.
It is advised that you assemble this project in the room where you want to keep it. It does not fit through regular doorways and it is not exactly light.
Assembly is via drop pins. Pretty straightforward. Align the corners and push the corner (drop) pins through. My pins were slightly bent but the crate went together fine.
Overall it is capable of doing what the manufacturer states it will do. I like the product and would recommend it for those who need a quality crate for their over-sized animals.
