More About the Author

Myrna Mackenzie grew up a daydreamer, knowing more about what she wasn't qualified to be than what she actually wanted to be (no athletic skill, so pole vaulting was out; not a glib speaker, so not likely to become a politician; poor swimmer, so the door to marine biology was closed). Fortunately, daydreaming turned out to be an absolutely perfect qualification for a writer, and today Myrna feels blessed that she gets to make her living writing down her daydreams.

When she's not writing, Myrna spends her time reading, hiking, collecting recipes she seldom makes, attempting to garden, drinking coffee, dreaming of eating chocolate, and writing a blog which has a little to do with writing, but a lot more to do with awesome things she digs up on the Internet (and which is so much fun)!

Her next book, Inherited: Expectant Cinderella will be out in March of 2012. Visit her at http://www.myrnamackenzie.com and join in the fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful stuff, January 25, 2005
This review is from: Midas's Bride (Silhouette Romance No 1719, Brides of Red Rose) (Mass Market Paperback)
Pregnant and alone, landscaper Abby Chesney has decided she needs a husband, someone solid, reliable, interested in friendship rather than romance, and willing to be a good father to her baby.
Definitely not someone like divorced business magnate Griffin O'Dell, whose own failures at love have convinced him to shun marriage and concentrate his affection on his four-year-old son Casey, with whom he gets to spend only part of the year.
But when Griffin hires Abby, both find that their hearts want a love their minds have ruled out as impossible. When Griffin's ex-wife threatens his growing relationship with Casey, both Griffin and Abby must confront feelings that are surprisingly powerful.
This is a remarkably good story despite its rather formulaic-sounding plot; it showcases a love that's willing to give whether it gets anything back or not.
