Problem Solved,

I came upon this product after researching my problem online. My Stereo was overheating from within an enclosed cabinet. The setup was pretty painless and with the automatic temperature control I never have to think about this again. I'ver read about others who have tried to make a cheaper solution from Radio Shack etc. My advice, buy this product let it do what it's designed to.

Very Disappointed,

I felt the original price of $150 was a little pricey for a cabinet fan so I waited a year for the price to drop. When I saw it come down to $89 I figured what the heck, it would be nice to be able to close the cabinet doors. I read the reviews and it sounded like the best fan on the market so I splurged.
Upon receipt I realized this was nothing more than a $9 PC cabinet fan that they added an AC adpater, a thermostat and a nice plastic cover. Don't get me wrong, it looked nice enough but I suspected it wasnt pushing out enough volume to effectively cool my AV equipment. So before cutting a hole in the side of my custom cabinet I thought I would test it out first. I replaced one of the cabinet doors with a piece of foam core, cut a 3" hole in it and popped the fan in. The temperature of the cabinet went up to 115 degrees in a matter of minutes. I'm sure it would have gone considerably higher if I left it sealed up, but I wasnt going to take a chance. And this was only with the AV receiver on, can't imagine how hot it would get with the cable box and PS3 on. I thoroughly tested it both blowing air inthe cabinet and venting air out of the cabinet. there really was no difference. The bottom line, This would be good for a small cabinet with maybe a cable box...thats about it. Seriously over priced..it really shouldnt cost more than $30.

Works as advertised, but fan is NOISY,

The build quality of this product is solid overall. The documentation is excellent, and installation was fairly straightforward using the provided template. The only difficulty I encountered was that the vent cover did not initially snap into place as stated in the manual and required some creative adjustment.
The fan operates as described, turning on only when its temperature threshold is reached and turning off when the heat inside my cabinet dissipates. My one complaint with this product is that the fan itself is NOT as quiet as I had hoped. I can hear it distinctly when listening to my system at low volume. This is definitely something to consider depending on the proximity of your media cabinet to your listening position. In my case, I feel that the benefits provided by this solution - i.e., extending the lifespan of my A/V equipment by keeping my cabinet properly ventilated - outweigh the one negative.

I am using the Cabinet Cooler in an enclosed space where I store my PS3, which gets quite warm when playing games or Blu-Rays. Since purchasing and installing the product, I no longer hear the PS3's tiny (and loud) fan whirring at maximum speed, and I don't have to worry about the PS3 or other devices in the same cabinet having a shortened lifespan. The temperature sensor in the Cabinet Cooler is great; the fan turns on only when needed, and doesn't run unnecessarily.

Our home theater system had very little air circulation, and when you have 2 cable boxes plus receivers plus Blurays plus other equipment, it can get very hot. After looking for a solution for weeks I found this product, and it works great. Easy to install, very silent and efficient. The temperature has dropped many many degrees, adding significant years of life to my equipment.

While I agree with some of the other reviews about the price, the installation and setup couldn't have been easier, so there's some justification. The only trouble I had was cutting a clean hole in my cabinet... No fault of the fan. The fan runs quietly, and appears to move a decent amount of air. So far, so good. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase.

This is a great little product. I thought it a bit pricey but considering the alternative (ruining expensive stereo equipment) I figured it was good insurance. Easy to install, very quiet. So far so good.

Perfect to resolve issues of heat in cabinets. I researched this issue and this is the ONLY way to adequately solve this problem and add live to expensive electronics.
