Decent drum, but could use a better head., November 14, 2007

The drum itself is comfortable and sturdy, and the sound is good, but the mylar head lacks depth in the dum. Nice, sharp tak though.
A good replacement head fixes a lot, though.
The "sturdy" party is good - my dumbek has been pretty heavily smacked about in concert settings, and I've had to "hot-rod" it a little bit to get a strapmount and mic clamp onto it for certain situations. It takes the abuse I throw at it well.
It is, unfortunately, not especially pretty to look at. It's grey and knobbly and kind of drab. But at the price point it does well.
