5.0 out of 5 stars Great for my VOX Midland Radios
It appears to work well with my my VOX Midland radios though I haven't used it to much. If your in a situation where your hands are busy doing something else and you don't have a free hand to operate your radio, this is the answer!

1.0 out of 5 stars A Piece of Junk, March 31, 2007

This product is a piece of junk, so poorly constructed that the headband and operational parts have no solid connection. As soon as you put it on, it comes apart, a constant frustration. Perhaps the designers knew itcouldn't be worn long, so uncomfortable is it. It pinches the head, loses its adjustment, and the clamp at the end is hard and sharp edged, despite a piece of symbolic foam that's so hard it has no cushioning effect.

The earphone (there's only one) is of low quality, and I couldn't get the mic to work. It broadcast only static on otherwise functioning CB radios from both the same maker, Midland, and from Cobra.

It is the cheapest CB headset on the market, and for a reason. Don't waste your money on it.

I also am displeased with the merchant who sold it. Though it was well- packed and quickly delivered, when I wrote them for a return authorization, I got no reply. They apparently didn't want it back.

I can understand why.

3.0 out of 5 stars Read Product Description and You will Know, December 18, 2008

Yes these are cheaply made as evidenced by the price. They are basically a toy, but the people who complain that they don't work on CB radios and the like, simply didn't read the Description which states "with boom microphone will make conversing on your Midland family radio easier and more convenient." These are ONLY for FRS Radios from Midland, but may work on other FRS radios as long as they have the same plug arrangement. BTW, FRS stands for Family Radio Service as in Motorola TalkAbouts and the like, NOT CBs. Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Good headsets like this cost anywhere from about $75 up.

I thought I was getting a deal on these headphones but no matter how little you pay for these...it is not worth it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't bother, February 25, 2011

This item is really poor. The headset doesn't fit well, the boom mic wouldn't stay in position and the sound quality was poor.I returned them and went for a different solution Midland AVPH5 Behind the Head Headsets (Pair) which works much better.

1.0 out of 5 stars Junk, January 25, 2011

This is not what I expect from Midland. The unit is very cheaply made, has no comfort, adjustment is terrible the unit will not stay on your head. I expected a higher quality piece of equipment. These will be worn by a Production crew and the requirement to stay on your head while leaving your hands free to move sets is the primary purpose. I do not recommend this product to anyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good product and does what it is designed, September 1, 2008
This review is from: Midland 22540 Headset Speaker with Boom Microphone (Electronics)
This headphone is designed to be used in car, not helmet. We have it over months and it's quite good and, after reading those reviews, we do take lot of care to handle it, it's definitely a weak-plastic product but it's the price paid.

It does make our conversation (between motorcycle and car) easier on the road.

So, buy it but treat it well and with care.
