The Midland GXT750 radio provides you with 22 GMRS/FRS (General Mobile Radio Service/Family Radio Service) UHF channels, and up to a 26-mile range in open territory. In addition to the 22 possible channels, the GXT750 comes with 121 privacy codes to lessen interference or eaves-dropping, as well as all 10 NOAA weather channels and a NOAA weather alert function. These powerful radios have an easy-to-read backlit LCD display that shows status information at a glance even in difficult lighting, and a large easy-to-use keypad on the front for one-touch access to important features.
The GXT750 radio is full of features such as an outgoing call alert to notify your intended receiver of incoming traffic, and five incoming call alerts to identify various senders. User's can even select one of five different animal sounds for incoming call alerts, including duck, goose, turkey, owl, or elk calls. This radio also features a channel scan for locating active channels, an auto squelch for filtering out weak signals, and a vibrating alert for use in both quiet and noisy environments. This unit provides High, Medium and Low power settings so you can choose to maximize transmission distance or save power, and a VOX function with selectable levels for voice-activated, hands-free transmissions. The GXT750 also includes keystroke tones, a roger beep that confirms transmission conclusion, and a silent operation for quieting beeps, tones and alerts when you can't afford to make extra noise.
Midland's GXT750 radio is constructed to be water resistant, so it can be used in most any environment, and has a keypad lock to avoid accidentally changing the radio settings. This radio runs on a Midland 4.8-volt rechargeable NiMH battery pack that can be recharged while in the radio, or can be powered by four AAA batteries during extended trips. This unit also includes a battery life extender function, as well as a low-battery indicator so you never get caught offguard without power. The GXT750 comes with a speaker/microphone/headset/charging jack so you can use it with an external speaker or microphone, or a pair of headphones, and recharge your battery pack when not in use. The Midland GXT750VP3 pack comes with two radios, each with a belt clip for convenient carrying or hands-free use, as well as two rechargeable NiMH battery packs, an AC wall adapter, and a dual radio desktop charger. These radios come with mossy-oak, break-up camouflage face plates, and are backed by a manufacturer's three-year warranty.

Good Range, Needs Volume Lock.,
By Sandy (New Mexico) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Midland GXT750VP3 22-Channel 26-Mile GMRS 2-Way Radio (Pair, Mossy Oak) (Electronics)
I got these for my sweetie for his birthday and he Absolutely Loves them. We're snowboarders up in AK so we need to be able to find eachother easily incase we get separated or there's an emergency. The radios have great range on the road and better-than-normal range on the mountain.
There are a couple features that bother me though. The volume doesn't have notches to turn it up and down so that it locks in place at each level. This means when you put it in your pocket it may turn all the way down or all the way up really easily. Bad for people like me who just leave it in their jacket while they play. The good thing on the other side of that is the Call feature. If Tim holds down the talk button for a few seconds my walkie vibrates. It isn't always enough to get my attention through Arctic Gear but would be really useful in a slightly warmer climate. It also has all the different animal calls on it for when you're hunting. This prevents you from having to hear that oh-so-annoying ''bleep bleep'' every time you transmit. They're also fun just to screw around with and listen to. We've tested them to the max in cold, extreamly wet weather and they keep kicking with no problems. I'd say, for the money I spent, I got one heck of a good buy.

These were a great value. They have really good reception even in downtown. A perfect choice for emercency communication. I havent tried to see just how far they will really work but I live 2 miles from my business and got great reception even in a downtown environment. Cant wait to try them out camping this summer!
