A friend introduced me to the Allman Brothers Band music back in 1975 and this is one of my top five favorites. My take on it, it's about an impoverished drifter afraid of love and commitment and won't let anybody take his freedom away even if it means living on the road forever alone.

To my taste The Allman Brothers Band have always been at their best with the slower, rich, bluesy, acoustic songs like Melissa and Midnight Rider. These songs paint a vivid picture of men who live as gypsies. These songs are soothing and I wish there were more like them.

The tone, beat and overall coolness of this song made me want to use this song as my personal theme song. I love this little ditty by the Southern Rock diety the Alman Brothers Band. Best enjoyed with the lights out, stereo cranked up high with your eyes closed.

I'm an American Legion Rider, and I have a "Bike Ride Mix" on my ipod which I can play through the speakers. I love to play the mix on a ride or in a parade with my fellow Legion Riders.

One of the best classic rock albums of all time. Many if the songs on here have been redone in recent years so it's nice to have the standby to show where they first hit.

Today all music is written by a team of writers. Most music had no meaning or deeper interpretation. However, this band knew how to write music. Music to my soul!

There are time when a soul needs to listen to the Allman Brothers - would recommend it to anyone - for some kickback - down to earth music - cant go wrong here

It's amazing how commercials can bring vintage (real music) to your attention again, and I love it! Whenever I hear something I love.
I've gotta have it.

Allman Brothers...hello?! Sure, most of them are dead, either physically, emotionally or spiritually, but their rock and roll is still kick ass.
