Book Description

Creepies May 13, 2004

There's a little door in Grandpa's spare room. Mom's brother told her it was full of ghosts and vampires waiting to creep out when it got dark . . .

Simply written and set in the natural rhythms of speech, The Midnight Ship is suitable for reluctant as well as first readers. A scary story with a reassuring ending for 5- to 8-year-olds.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kids will love it and reluctant readers will be enticed to read more "Creepies", October 21, 2010
"The Midnight Ship" is the sixth title in a successful series titled "Creepies" that appeals to children ages 5-8. Two sisters like to pretend their bunk beds are a ship in a dangerous, serpent-infested sea as they are (supposedly) drifting off to sleep in the dark. Although the younger sister does not always get to do the most fun things in their make believe boat in the sea, she manages to come out even or ahead in the end. The dark-tinged pastel illustrations lend exactly the right hint of fearsome mystery clothing the familiar in this imaginative little spooky thriller. Kids will love it and reluctant readers will be enticed to read more "Creepies."
