Midnight Son is the story of Jacob, a young man confined to a life of isolation, due to a rare skin disorder that prevents him from being exposed to sunlight. His world opens up when he meets Mary, a local bartender, and falls in love. Tragically, Jacob’s actions become increasingly bizarre as he struggles to cope with the effects of his worsening condition. Forced by the disease to drink human blood for sustenance, he must control his increasingly violent tendencies as local law enforcement narrow their focus on him as a suspect in a series of grisly murders.

4.0 out of 5 stars NIce indy find. April 19, 2012
    By alfred
    Format:DVD
I really enjoyed this movie, it is surprisingly well shot and paced, especially for an Indy. It has lots of atmosphere, and the director successfully creates an ever increasing sense of dread as the film unfolds. Also, the San Francisco area locations are well represented and add a nice sense of scale and intimacy to the proceedings. Some may find it less then action packed, but there is a lot of promise on display here that well cancels out whatever growing pains might be evident. Nice job.

5.0 out of 5 stars On my top 10 list July 12, 2012
    By Flossy
    Format:DVD
This movie offers a fresh take on the genre. I found myself easily identifying with the main character, and the melancholic mood reminded me of Let The Right One In, another of my favorite vampire movies. The choice of the scriptwriters to focus on realism was a welcome change from the overly supernatural offerings that are so common. If you like vampire flicks that are thought provoking instead of kill-a-minute (although it has its share) get this movie.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing April 14, 2012
    Format:DVD
This is a fabulous story of love and angst while being told through an addiction of vampirism! I loved the details in the filming and the story that was beautifully yet chillingly related! I would watch this film without the sound because it has been directed with gorgeous detail! This is a film to OWN!!!
