Review: Midnight at Trafalgar Square, December 21, 2005
This review is from: Midnight at Trafalgar Square (Paperback)
Rebecca Randolph Buckley, author of Midnight at Trafalgar Square, provides the reader with vivid settings in London, Cornwall, Montana, and the California coast as her protagonist, Rachel O'Neill seeks happiness and fulfillment. Rachel, a screenwriter, author, and singer, pledges to her dying father to capture the zest of life and visit the capital cities of the world. While she reluctantly agrees to marry Ethan Phillips for business purposes, she realizes that she is not in love with her fiancé. Rachel recognizes that her limited childhood and a brutish sexual attack by a powerful politician caused deep-seated psychological problems that stifle any chance of romance and a real relationship with Ethan.
The author provides a conflicted protagonist, who succeeds in her career aspirations, has the savoir faire to blend with any society, and deals with whatever comes her way, while enduring well-hidden self-doubt. As the sexual assault trauma fades, Rachel feels normal biological urges, the need to be loved, and finds several attractive male candidates the author skillfully places in Rachel's path. Rachel's reward for patience and prudence with her casual interactions with these men allows friendships to grow. These friendships support her psychological healing and eventually save her life.
Rebecca Randolph Buckley provides a cast of characters who struggle with chaos and who must conquer their weaknesses in their quest for happiness. Her book is highly recommended for those readers who enjoy colorful scenes, realistic characters, and endearing life drama.

Midnight at Trafalgar Square, April 23, 2006
This review is from: Midnight at Trafalgar Square (Paperback)
I thoroughly enjoyed my trip through London and on to Cornwall with the characters this author has so skillfully created. Her description of Rachel fits a few ladies that I know, and as I read, it was a fantastic bonus to imagine any one of them being Rachel as she becomes caught up in a romantic fantasy in the beginning of the story, but later comes to realize that perhaps happiness lies in what you've known and been comfortable with all along. I recommend this book to everyone who likes to be carried away on a romantic adventure. There is just enough suspense and intrigue in this story to keep you turning the pages to find out what happens next! I can't wait for the sequel to this book as Rachel goes off again in search of.........

Review of "Midnight at Trafalgar Square"
The author Rebecca Randolph Buckley has written an exciting story, of romance which includes travel as well. Her description of London and all of the places she takes her heroine to makes you wish you could join her on her journey. Rachel O'Neill is an exciting woman, full of independence as well as the strength to pursue many different careers. Her abilities are overwhelming. However she carries with her baggage from her past that prevents her from finding happiness. Her search for answers and resolutions keep you fascinated. The romance and excitement exudes from the pages that keep you from putting this book down. This is a first of many in a series of stories and places attended on New Years Eve. I can't wait for the next one in Paris. I highly recommend this novel.
