This book, like all the other books in Cutler series are extraordinary! I've read many of V.C. Andrews books and the Cutler series is by far the best. I started with the first book in the series "Dawn" and was hooked from there on out. After the first few chapters you really begin to feel as though you know Dawn. This is the last V.C. Andrews book I purchased. A very hard book to read, except for noting how the ghostwriter bases the plots on Ms. Andrews' original writings (the Dollanganger series, My Sweet Audrina, and most of the Casteel series, I believe, were the only books actually WRITTEN by her). If you read the later books carefully, you can even find whole paragraphs...

I started with the first book in the series "Dawn" and was hooked from there on out. After the first few chapters you really begin to feel as though you know Dawn. When good things happen for her it makes me happy, and sad when she is sad. It is almost impossible to put these books down once you've began reading them. I would recommend this series to anyone, it's very easy to follow and will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire series.

If you read the later books carefully, you can even find whole paragraphs lifted verbatim from the original books. In just about every other instance, this would be considered plagarism but since (I assume) the Andrews estate and the publisher are raking in the bucks, nothing is done about this. The ORIGINAL, GENUINE Andrews books are very good in their genre, but I wouldn't bother with the rest of them, beginning with the Dawn series...yawn...one has to think what Ms. Andrews herself would think of this...imitation is the sincerest form of flattery? or just plain upset that her reputation is being dragged through the mud with these trashy, worthless books?

The worst thing is, I have a feeling that most of the readers of these books are teenage or young adults. If this is their introduction to adult fiction, I feel very sorry for them. May I suggest the "Earth's Children" series by Jean Auel?

4.0 out of 5 stars The saga continues, August 16, 2004
This book was probably my least favorite in the Dawn Cutler series, however it was still decent.

It was fun to see Dawn's daughter go back to the places Dawn visited, meet the people she met- to see what had happened since. It was also fun to see "new" characters take on the evil role. However, something just didn't click for me in this book as it did in the others. Maybe it was just that Dawn wasn't present for most of the book.

I'd recommend this series though as a whole if you enjoy VC Andrews or if you enjoy books of this genre.

1.0 out of 5 stars as formulaic as it gets, December 6, 2001
I think I've got the V.C. Andrews plot down pretty well. Men have to be either wonderful gentle heroes or horrible insane rapists. Women have to be either evil witches or sweet, pretty, STUPID little things. The sweet, pretty, stupid teenage girl falls in love with either her brother or her uncle, is raped by another brother or uncle, is rescued by the first brother or uncle and willingly commits incest with him. The plot always ends happily when a benevolent figure, always male, saves the day. This whole series is sick, besides being bad writing.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Book, August 26, 2000
A Kid's Review
I absolutely loved this book. Christie is definnetly one of my favorite characters. When Dawn and Jimmy died I felt absolutely terrible! They were such great people and I felt horrible for Christie and Jefferson and what they went throught living with Uncle Phillip and Aunt Bet. I was so happy when in the end they went to live with Bronson, who I think they should of been living with from the start. He is a great man and they will be very happy with him. I think Gavin and Christie's little romance is sweet although it does seem a little like incest. I mean technically Gavin is Christie's step-uncle. I would like to hear more about them but unfortunately this is the last book about them.

5.0 out of 5 stars one of my favorites, April 27, 2004
i have to say ive read the cutler seris the doll seris and now im reading the casteel seris the cutler seris is my favorite so far and this book is my favorite by far but isnt it kind of preverted that christie makes out with her step uncle? i mean that isnt as bad as philip and dawn but still well im not going to be one of the those reviewers who tells you everything because then it ruins the book. i think whoever writes these since V.C Andrews is dead shouldnt just stop a seris like that i want to know what happens with christie and gavin and if things get better for christie and jefferson at home same thing with the doll seris but thats for another reveiw

5.0 out of 5 stars A happy ending for the Cutler family, October 14, 2002
By
I was glad to know about Christie. I believe Dawn had done the right thing to stand up for her. I was glad Christie had a happy 16th birthday. But I was sad when Dawn and Jimmy got burned alive in the Cutler's Cove hotel. It made matters worse when Melanie and Richard caused trouble for Christie and Jefferson. What's more was Bet wouldn't listen to either Christie or Jefferson. Philip horribly betrayed Christie's trust by raping her one night. No wonder Christie ran away taking Jefferson with her. Yet I was glad that Christie found out she could trust Gavin and Bronson.

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite of the series so far!, August 31, 1999
By A Customer
Midnight Whispers was an awesome book! Unlike some of the other Cutler series books Midnight Whispers always kept my attention. I was really sad when Dawn and Jimmy died! It really surprised me. Thoughout the book I began to really hate Aunt Bet and the twins. I think this was a great book and everyone should read it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good!, August 19, 1999
By A Customer
At first I was a little disappointed that this story wouldn't be told in Dawn's perespective but I did become very ataached to Christie. This was a very sood sequel to the other three books. The Cutler series is amazing. I can't wait to read The Darkest Houur and find out how the Cutler family got such a curse laid down on them. If you are intrested in this book at all be sure to read Dawn, Secrets of the Morning, and Twilight's Child first so it will make sense!

5.0 out of 5 stars An awsome book that I couldn't put down., August 7, 1999
This book portrayed the life of a young woman going through way more than any 16 year old should have to. This book was awsome and riveting, with a suprise around every corner.
