Complete suprise,
By Steven Clem Haley "Steve is in Stillwater" (Stillwater, Oklahoma United States) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Midnight Without You (Audio CD)
First heard this guy (I was a jazz novice) at an in-store listening booth and bought it since it was on sale. Without a doubt it is the favorite cool jazz disc in my wife and my collection, with the exception of Kind of Blue. I associate locations and weather when I hear music. This reminds me of driving through downtown San Francisco on a rainy Friday night. If you've ever done that, you'll understand. Listen and enjoy the passing of time.

Incredible CD,
By A Customer
This review is from: Midnight Without You (Audio CD)
I thought CD's wouldn't wear out...Well, when it comes to this one, I found that untrue. Listening to "Regroovable" became an obsession, even though I completely love the rest of the album. I just had my favorite song. I'm on my second copy and still can't get enough. Botti is outstanding but is not as well known as you would expect. Once you are hooked on his sensual horn, you can't imagine life without him. He plays from his soul, and lets his horn speak for him. He epitomizes "cool" (jazz or otherwise...) Just buy the CD!!!

COOL, SMOOTH & SENSUOUS,
By BEZEREL L. QUINTO (makati, philippines) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Midnight Without You (Audio CD)
I first saw Chris Botti in Sting's "Brand New Day Tour-Live At The Universal Amphitheater" DVD. He substituted the role which used to be played by Branford Marsalis, only this time in his cool, smooth & sensuous trumpet. I used to favor the saxophone as the better horn instrument as compared to the trumpet but Chris Botti made me appreciate the trumpet by the way he plays. "Midnight..." is my second Chris Botti CD (the first one being "Slowing Down The World". He has never failed me thus far.
