I am a new fan of Shaggy's music. Midnite Lover was the first Shaggy CD that I've ever purchased. After listening to it, at least 50 times in seven days, I immediatley began looking for other CDs by this artist. It is, indeed, a shame that this fine artist does not get the recognition he deserves in the USA! I am not a cross over Reggae fan. Shaggy, thank you for keeping romance alive!!!

I enjoyed the more soulful lyrics in the ballads of this album. I listen to this cd every morning before I leave for work.My favorite tracks are "Piece of my heart" Sexy body girls" "Thank you Lord" and the title track. I think this album was more mature and creative than "Boombastic". I am really sorry it wasn't promoted more because a lot of people are missing out on an excellent copilation.

Shaggys CD midnite Lover is not one of Shaggys best works, But i did enjoy this cd alot. The song "Peice of my heart" is my favorite. Most of the songs are slower paced and have a deep meaning. (genie, dream, peice of my heart, thank you lord, ect.) Then there is the songs that are a little more... fast (midnite lover,Sexy Bodied girl)Ideffinitly prefer Boombastic and Hot Shot over Midnite lover. But this is still a great cd.This cd is between a 4 and a 3 to me

A lot of good tracks. Even if you're not into reggae, you will probably like this album.

I THINK SHAGGY IS THE BOMB.....HE HAS OPENED MANY CONCERTS UP IN HAWAII! AND THAT'S ALL THEY LISTEN TO! MY FAVORITE SONG OF HIS IS #4.....DAT SONG IS HELLA TIGHT!!! IF I WERE U GUYS, I WOULD BY THAT CD FO SHO'!!! SO BUY IT!!! ITS WORTH IT.......THANK U

Shaggy is so hot and puts alot of great rythem in his music. I just got Shaggy's new cd called Lucky Day and it has excellent songs on it. Shaggy is my baby and i hope to meet him

After the huge success of Boombastic, I thought Shaggy would expand on that success. This album, to me, has a totally different sound than Boombastic. The best tracks on the album are probably John Doe, the Peice of My Heart remix, and I guess Tender Love is okay too. But even these sound way too popish. They sound like they were made for some adults. It's totally not dancehall but more like Pop/rock and lovers rock. Don't get me wrong, I love Shaggy, but I think this doesn't help his potential. If it wasn't for That Girl, which wasn't even his song, he'd be a one hit wonder in America. I think Shaggy sounds best when he's exploring more true dancehall and reggae, and he's at his best when he does hip-hop and r&b. This album was a disappointment and I'd only recommend it for adults over thirty five.
