Warm, creative guitar-based Celtic music,

This is the only Al Petteway cd I own, so I can't compare it w/ his other releases. But I can tell you that it is a very accomplished collection of songs. Most are slow, reflective 'aires' (if that's the right word) which are beautiful. Most are built around Al's guitar playing, often accompanied by bagpipes. Rarely do things 'heat up.' And, finally, there are some sublime, melancholic moments...highly recommended.

What can I say-Al Petteway has done it again. He has created a CD of calming yet upbeat music. From the 'sweet' "Wild Mountain Thyme," to the beautiful melodies of "Chase the Moon" to the 'haunting' "Phooka" to the upbeat reel of "Wintertide" this CD is not one you want to miss out on!

I bought my first copy of this CD way back at one their concerts and have played it so often at home and for my preschool students that it's too beaten up to play anymore. I'm more than happy to buy it again - I've been missing it already.
