I have a black lab, Doodle that has been plaqued with allgery problems for 6 long years, I have tried everything changing to organic food, pills, shots, medication the vets prescribed, yogurt, olive oil, daily baths, you name it I have tried everything I could find on the internet all with no help for her. I was reading on line to try to find a different solution for her problem to try and found a review on this product. The persons review that I read sounded just like my Doodles problems (her owner also tried all the same remedies as I did with no help) she tried this product and she said within 3 days she saw a hugh difference it had made for her dog, right then I decided if it helped her dog I would give it a try, I never thought something you could put in ears would make that big of a difference but I was out of ideas. I ordered it and arrived in 3 days started once a day putting it in her ears, I am so glad I did within a week my Doodlebug was a completely different dog, her ear gook was gone, the stink was gone!!( you could not stand to be around her the smell was awful), she would itch 100% of the time, she lost most of her hair, now which is growing back still peach fuzz but its more than she has had in 5 years, her eyes brightened, she is no longer the crotchely old lady we had changed her name to (poor girl she had to have been miserable). What a hugh difference in one week---she has now been on this since Oct 1, faithfully everyday for 30 days I put it in her ears---I have a normal dog now without ear problems. If you tried everything as I did, try this you will not be dissapointed!!

I wish i had found this product years ago. It would have saved us thousands of dollars in vet bills. It's the best product i have found for irritated dog ears. Great product!

My dog is constantly fighting ear infections. He gets smelly brown thick gunk in his ears when they flair up. Daily treatment with this for 3 or 4 days clears him up till the next one. The secret is to poor a liberal amount into the ear canal, then massage the ear canal on the side of the dogs head till you hear the gross smacking sound. This works the gunk loose.

I have a 3 year old boxer who recently had an allergic reaction to some outdoor elements. She was outside while I was doing yard work, and later that afternoon was sneezing and wheezing like crazy. Recently I have noticed different signs, such as her biting her nails and licking them all the time. I have two boxers and I don't run to the vet every time something comes up, I would be spending a fortune if I did! So a couple of weeks after the sneezing and wheezing I noticed the inside of her ears getting red, and looking a little bumpy. It was ultra sensitive to touch so I couldn't even clean her ears. I was browsing on-line and looking up symptoms of allergies and ear infections/yearst build up. So I choose to get her medication to treat what I suspect is an infection in the ear. I was going to go the route of petsmart, but read the reviews on the meds. they offer there and found an opinion about Zymox in one of the reviews. So I purchased it, shipping was prompt and professional. I started to use it right away, it is not watery but has a thicker consistancy so it won't run everywhere. Each night for 7 days I filled her ear canal and massaged gently. There will be residue that comes out after they shake their heads, so I just took a cotton ball and wiped that away from the outside of the ear. After the 7 days her ear looks completely normal, no more red, no more dirty looking residue and I can finally clean her ears. As far as I am concerned this bottle saved me a $150 bill from the vet. I feel it was a good buy, and for my experience it resolved the problem w/out a vet visit. Hope this was helpful!

Amazing stuff!!!! Fixed my little Beagle's chronic ear infection in about 3 days. I use it once every week ( just a few drops) to keep his ears clean).

I stumbled on this product while trying to save myself hundreds of dollars for my dogs chronic ear infections. It truly works. You should always have it on hand. Glad they have this 8 oz bottle! I should get the green label one as well for a random maintenance dose because it does not have the hydrocortisone in it. My dog has chronic ear infections. But since using this product, they just happen a couple times a year now. Alway have both on hand if your dog is prone to infections. I used to spend about $500 (at least) per year on the dogs ears. NO MORE. I spend less than $50.

I have English bulldog, he suffers from chronic ear infection. Tried several vets and tried many expensive vet's prescribed medicine. But my poor dog never got better but suffering really bad. I tried to do my research on Internet and came across with Zymox. At that point, I was trying anything. Off course I was skeptical. But after 3, 4 days, his ears were clearing up. And it STAYS clean. I could not believe it. Other medicine I tried only gave him temporary fix and infection always came right back, but with Zymox his ear stays clean!!!!!
I bought a big bottle because I have spent $$$ at vet for his ear medicine, but I only needed a little bit of Zymox to heal him. I still can not believe it, I spent almost $1000 at several vets trying to find a cure in the past, now I feel lot better.

I once read that there are only two types of dog ear infections - those that are going to respond to treatment and those that are not. With Zymox, the ones that don't respond to treatment can be nonexistent. I'm in the Houston area...hot...humid...perfect for allergies, bacterial and yeast ear infections. I've spent countless hours and money on the veterinarian's treatments to no avail. At my wits ends, I found this and tried it. It took almost a month to completely clear up my poor dog's ears, but they are healthy ears now and they've been healthy for over a year. I use it every week or so now, as a maintenance. My veterinarian uses this now. Hands down, this is the best. Thanks, Zymox!

There are a lot of testimonials for the efficacy of zymox Enzymatic Ear Solution with Hydrocortisone in treating bacterial and fungal (yeast) infections in dogs here, but there is only one related to cats. I have a Maine Coon male that gets seasonal allergies that develop into bacterial infections in his ear (only one ear has been affected to date). We spent several months working with our vet, trying different antibiotics(injections, pills, solutions, etc.) only to have the bacterial infections shift to fungal infections due to "changing the pH environment" of the ear. Clearing the fungal infection changed the pH environment yet again and another bacterial infection developed. I wondered why there wasn't something to treat both kinds of ear infections at the same time, something to stop the yoyo effect. I don't know how much money and time were spent over those months (I don't even want to know at this point), but I know it was a lot. I finally went online and found this product and asked my vet about it. She said the hydrocortisone version would help soothe the ear and agreed it was worth a try because even she felt there wasn't much else we could do without resorting to a costly surgery that would probably leave the cat deaf! I couldn't see doing that because -- really-- he loves to sit in front of the stereo and listen to music -- really -- and the pain and disability were too much to subject a 14-yr-old to. So we gave it a try. We saw immediate clearing of the infection(s), but it took about a month for complete resolution. Amazing!! We live in a humid climate and think humidity/moisture contributes to yeast infections and occasionally think we see a bit of debris in his ear. If so, we go straight to the Zymox. It's a bit tricky to administer. I've learned to put as much as I can onto a cotton ball and press it into the ear canal and massage with the cotton still inside. Then I wipe it out with another cotton ball. Then I put as much as he will allow directly into the ear canal and massage as long as he will let me. I try to wipe the excess out before he shakes his head, but my husband and I usually end up with zymox on our clothes and there are drops on the window from his shaking his head. Again a very light wiping of excess and a few treats for his trouble. He isn't acting like an old cat now. We are so glad to have found this product. Oh, and I did try just cleaning out his ear once with a OTC cleaning solution, but that is the one time the fungal infection came back enough to take a week to clear with the zymox, so my suggestion is to only use the enzymatic solution and never use water to wipe out the ears, not even a cotton ball dampened with water.

I have been dealing with yeast infections and dry ears(what I call dry rough swollen, underside of the ear flap from scratching problem) for 10 years. Have tried all the usual from the vet, but kept returning and didn't clear it up for more than a few days. I am in shock that this product works. Truly and totally amazed!! And the dogs don't run and hide when they see the bottle. They like it! It immediately soothes and it does not bother them with their ear canal full of Zymox as it does with other products. I have 9 large dogs and now my life is a lot easier! And to be able to take away the suffering this problem causes my pets is a blessing. They are happy dogs now! I really berate myself for not trying Zymox before. The vet should have told me about this! This is my first review of any product publicly but I have to let animal lovers know!
