The metal bars are not the flimsy type like you see in pet cages, but thick no-nonsense bars with impeccable quality in their golden zinc finish. The xpen has 8 panels that fold in any direction so you can shape the 16 foot long product into a room divider, or snap the ends together with the included golden spring clips to form a rectangle or octagon. I have mine placed in the corner of the room, and so it is more of a bulging triangle at the moment.

The product included ground hooks, for persons placing the xpen outside in the yard, as well as thick polymer clips to latch panels that are running straight, so that the pen cannot be tipped over. These come off for easy storage. I originally hung a sheet over the top of the xpen to create an artificial ceiling to employ behavioral shaping to condition my dog into not believing that he might escape by jumping upward, and this has been fully successful, although you can purchase ceilings of bars or a shade tarp separately.

I purchased the xpen for my large golden to have a safe place to recover from knee surgery, and so I don't use the built in door, as it has a small 2 inch rise on it and I didn't want him to trip lifting his surgical leg over it, but I instead unfasten the main seam by opening the included spring clips so that I can easily part the panels and afford my pup safe exit.

Fast shipping from Amazon as usual, product arrived ok packaged. Assembly was easy, but using cheap, not adequate hardware. Plastic 'stabilizers' fell of as soon as puppy jumped up against it.

The biggest problem however is the bad welding job on the metal mesh, parts are just rough whereas in other areas metal pieces/ particles come of the product, both defects can be damaging to animals imo. The gold-zinc coating is also patchy and comes off on certain spots - rust will likely occur soon!
Going to return it to Amazon and trying to find a better product.

The pen arrive promptly, and was easy to assemble. We have it in the octagon pattern which allows the most romp area for our 2 mischievious little pups. There is also room for a medium a bed, large pee pad and water dish. The set up is stable, our puppies are between 10 and 15 lbs, and have yet to knock it over... and they have tried. My only complant is that a few of the edges were quite sharp and had to be filed down.

GREAT PEN WELL DESIGNED SETS UP EASELY VERY SMALL STORAGE SPACE REQUIRED WE TRAVEL WITH 4 CHIHUAHUA'S THEY LOVE TO STAY OUT AND VISIT WITH ALL PASSERS BY FROM THE SAFETY OF THE PEN THE HEIGHT MAKES IT HARDER TO REACH IN SO WE ARE NOT SO FEARFUL TO LET THEM PLAY WITH OUT US BEING ON TOP OF EVERY MOVE I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT IT IS ALL IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE

when we purchased the pup we only bought a kennel. As he is becoming more active we felt bad leaving him in the kennel when we are away. The pet pen solved our problem, he can go in and out of the kennel safely and do his "business" in the pee pad while we are gone. Definitely suggest this to new puppy owners whose pups are not ready to go outside just yet.

The finish looks nothing like the picture. It's looks like either old stock that is oxidized or just comes dull and ugly. The quality is very cheap and I had spent about an hour just to tweak it straight so it would look decent and still couldn't get the door that good. This was not due to shipping because the box was in good shape, just a garbage made product thrown into a box! The clips that closes it together were rusty and didn't work. I originally wanted two, one for inside and one for outside. I decided to get one first since the reviews were pretty good and a second if the quality was good. This one will be for outside use only! I've always been happy with the Precision brand products, so I think I will look there for my indoor use one. If I found this on the side of the road I would leave it there! I would of sent it back if the box was still good but the metal clips they use to close the box forces you to practically destroy the box just to open it. I don't leave reviews this bad unless it is truly deserved.

My rabbit already had one of these, but needed another; this was perfect! He has plenty of room now. :) It arrived really fast and the price was sweet; I'd done a lot of comparison shopping. Thanks again!

This is the 3rd one we have bought and it's a high quality useful folding dog pen. We buy the 24" x 30" for our 2 westies. I like the size of 1 pen closed for 1 dog.. very large area actually. We use 2 pens seperately 1 for each dog. When we go camping we connect the 2 pens together and use the large area for 2 dogs and 2 folding lawn chairs. Yes we sit inside with the dogs. We have it also surrounding the door to our camper so it's very easy to go inside. This time I have also purchased 2 of the quart stainless bowls that clip on to the pen. Our dogs tip over their water sometimes and grass isn't always level in campgrounds. The reason we bought the 1st pen was because one of the dogs had knee surgery and was required to be way less active, no running, no jumping up etc so it was easier being able to use the folding portable pen in the kitchen during the times I was preparing meals.. we used it in the evening to keep him in active in the living room... and used a regular crate at bedtime. When we go away for a few hours we put each dog in a pen in the kitchen. The pen can be made smaller very easily. I highly recommend them for home and travel. Another use is if I wish to sit out in the yard, I put 2 pens together and sit inside the pen with the dogs and read or knit. I have seen many campers use the pens and even leave their pets unattended, the pens do have stakes, but most camp grounds do not allow unattended pets outside. The pen is sturdy. I have also used the pens to go across an opening like the entry to the dining area in a single line zig zag fashion to keep the dogs in the kitchen dining area away from the grandkids running about the rest of the house. We have left one outdoors on our deck numerous times, even getting rained on, and the coating is really good as we've seen no rust, mind you I do try to remember to bring it in.. yes it got snow on it once, but has no ill effects. We don't really Leave them out, just forget to bring them in sometimes. I highly recommend the pen, be sure to buy one tall enough for your pet.

Great quality x-pen. I use them for potty training and they stay outside all the time. Comes with stakes to secure to the ground and also the door is a great feature. Same price as wholesalers on Amazon and with my Prime shipping was free ($20 or more to ship from other places!) I also use these with my RV when I go camping. Allows me to let the dogs out to potty while keeping them safe in the campground. Folds up nicely and fits right under the RV!

This is great. I love the people door. My dog show friends have the old style without the people door and they have to bend down and get their dog. With the people door no bending down..just open the door and the dog can come out. The price is really great. I checked around and if you get the free shipping this is a really great deal.
