Book Description

January 1, 2003
Still your busy heart with The Midwifes Story: Meditations for Advent Times. In this season of waiting, it is easy to get caught up in the tension and the stress. There is great value in taking quiet time for reflection. The Midwifes Story will allow you to ready yourself spiritually for the birth of the Divine. As the title suggests it is a poem about a very special midwife who may have been present at the birth of Christ. The poem, which reminds us that holiness comes to the world through a physical body, is accompanied by beautiful illustrations that are meant to help open your mind and heart, and bring new awareness and insight. The second half of the book invites you to delve deeper, by exploring a different theme for each of the poems eight sections. The Midwifes Story will assist you on the journey through Advent and help you learn what healing or growth God is wanting to bring to birth in you.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great book for Advent, September 2, 2011
By
This review is from: The Midwife's Story: Meditations for Advent Times (Hardcover)
This small book begins with a poem about a midwife; the midwife who brought Jesus into the world. The poem is thought provoking in itself. But the author has broken up the poem into eight seconds (two for each week of Advent). Each section has a small thought, questions, meditation thought and Bible verses.
This is a wonderful book to point us to the real reason for Christ's birth and to help us see beyond the presents, decorations and stress of the holidays.

I received this book free of charge in exchange for my honest review.
