We thought long and hard before spending this much money for a vacuum. But, the rave reviews on MANY websites finally convinced us to buy the Miele S5281 Pisces vacuum. We had gone through several other vacuums, costing $300-$400 each, all of which met with a seemingly early demise. We are definitely not hard on vacuums and probably don't run them often enough!

The Miele vacuum is everything we thought it would be and more. It is about 1/2 the weight of our old vacuum and the design of the wheels make it VERY easy to pull around. The non-electric rug brush works very well, without pulling threads out of our rugs (like our old vacuum did). The parquet twister floor brush is a delight to use and allows access to many small areas we were unable to reach with our old vacuum. Our whole-house vacuuming time has been reduced about 30% by not having to continually change to small brushes for reaching those areas.

But, the BEST thing about the Miele is how VERY quit it is. We used to have to wear hearing protection with our other vacuum. The Miele is VERY quiet, even on its highest suction setting and just a whisper on the lowest setting.

Yes, the Miele line of vacuums is expensive. But, as with most things, you get what you pay for. They have well thought out designs and are built to last. If your budget will allow, you will NOT regret purchasing one of their vacuums.

I found this model after my husband suggested that I look into Miele vacuum cleaners. Our 4 year old daughter suffers from seasonal eczema/allergies, and so we were thinking about getting a new vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter. After much research, I found that Amazon had the best price and so we decided to purchase one. When I took it for a test drive after it arrived, I was surprised at the powerful suction. It is also light in weight so it's easy for me to carry it up and down the stairs. The reason why I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is because I wished the hose was a bit longer and the dusting brush a bit bigger, but I know that that's just personal preference. Overall, I'm satisfied with its performance and would recommend this to anyone looking for a good reliable vacuum cleaner.

I have owned a Miele canister vacuum for about 8 years now. During that time I have had to replace the wand twice, the power head, and the hose for a total of over $500. I have found that they work great when they work. But they are surprisingly cheaply made and replacement/repair costs are outrageous.

I bought this on Amazon from Mr. Vacuum and Ms. Sew to replace my Hoover wind tunnel. I have had two Hoover wind tunnels that have lasted an average of 3-4 years. Before that I had a Eureka vacumn cleaner.

I bought this vacuum based on the review of others and the expected life of this vacuum cleaner. I haven't had much opportunity to use the vacuum so far, but I noticed a big plus is the noise level is much quieter than any of my previous vacuum cleaners. The wand can be adjusted which is a great plus. My husband made the comment that after I am done cleaning the house the air does not smell like dust. I also like the different levels to set the suction power and the retractable cord.

I will update this rating as I use the various features.

Purchased my Miele Pisces from Mr. Vac & Mrs. Sew and it showed up on time and incredibly well packed. Kudos to them. I bought this to replace a Bosch canister vac which I actually liked but was accidentally knocked down a flight of stairs. The Bosch did well on my wood and tile floors, but I didn't realize how poorly it cleaned my area rugs until I started using my Pisces canister. The Pisces is doing a great job so far and I love that the tools are hidden on board. The Turbo head for rugs has to be kept separately but that is a small price to pay. I haven't had to pay to replace the filters or bags yet, so perhaps I will be less enamored when the time comes to shell out for those...

I love this vacuum! it totally packs a punch. It is fantastic at picking up dirt and allergens. it is light weight and easy to maneuver in corners and under furniture. After ordering, I got this vacuum in under 2 days. Very speedy delivery. In fact, I am going to buy another one for our vacation home. The only complaint is that the electric cord is short so you have to keep moving it to a new plug when you go from room to room.

Bought this because my dog was suffering from inhalant allergies and spending a fortune at the vet for allergy shots, I decided to spring for this vacuum. It was like waving a wand. After cleaning the house with this vacuum, I saw an immediate reaction in my pooch - as well as myself! Its easier to use than all my former brands and the resulting improvement in health issues makes this worth the expense.

I love this vacuum cleaner; it really gets all the dog hair (and I have a log of it) on my
carpets and wood floor. It is a powerful 'sucker.'

Absolutely top notch piece of equipment. Performs flawlessly on tile, carpet both thin and pile. Also, and perhaps just as important, Miele has an sense of aesthetic correctness American manufacturers seem to be incapable of.

I expect this product to deliver with the high price on the tag. It is too expensive but was not as powerfull than my cheaper vacum. Yes it is light but the suction is weak. I return it immediately after trying it the first time. That is why people said it is quiter because it is not having a strong suction as other vacum.
