The Miele Olympus S2120 uses Miele's 1,200 Watt Motor found on all other Miele Vacuum Cleaner Canisters providing the user with plenty of power. Electronic suction dial is located at the back of the machine, Settings include drapes, furniture, throw-rugs, quiet setting, Large area rugs and wall to wall carpet/bare floors. Controls range from 200 Watts to 1200 Watts. The Miele Olympus uses Extra-Large Miele's G/N Vacuum Cleaner Bag which is a Self-Sealing 9-Layer bag that fills up tight and is resistant to breakage from nails, glass or screws! The Miele Olympus is extremely lightweight and the wand stores at the back of the machine for easy storage. The Miele Olympus comes packed with a Crush-Proof Ergonomic Hose that has Vario-Clip locates at both the base of the hose handle and the machine connection piece which stores your included Crevice Tool, Upholstery Tool and Dusting Brush on the machine. The Miele Olympus also comes stainless-steel telescopic wands that easily connect to the floor brush and hose with a simple click. The FiberteQ SBD350-3 Rug and Floor Tool is ideal for all smooth flooring and very low pile carpeting. It allows you to go from smooth floors to carpeted surfaces with a quick click of the rocker switch. The combination of the Miele Hyclean Dust Bag and Super Air Clean Filter ensures that only super clean air is coming out of the machine which is great for allergy and asthma sufferers.

I underwent a long and arduous search for the best vacuum, and I finally found it. I read a ton of reviews and looked at lots of models, and am very happy with my choice. However, we've only had it for a few weeks, so perhaps I'll find fault later on, but for now, my husband and I are both thrilled with this vac. It's light, easy to maneuver and great on our hardwood floors and rugs. Even though there is no brush roller, it still works well on all our rugs, which are mostly orientals and some with a fairly thick pile. One caveat: Make sure you use the switch on the vac head to go from hardwood to carpet, or else it will make that terrible scraping sound another reviewer wrote about. Once you hit the switch it works fine, so I guess that person just didn't notice the switch. It's nice and quiet and also works well on cat hair. The only criticism I have is that the vent blower on top of the vac can blow dust a bit but that's only when you are holding it at odd angles, like on the stairs. Once I was aware of that, I was able to turn it to avoid the issue. The cord was long enough for me; didn't have that issue as others have. I love that it has a holder to keep the wand upright when you need to stop and move something-- you don't have to find something to lean it on. Overall, I'm VERY pleased!!!
NOTE: Amazon lists a suggestion to buy vac bags at the same time, but it listed the wrong kind of bag. This machine takes G/N bags and not the other kind as was listed.

After MUCH research I finally settled on this one for the house. We have hard wood floors. I found one link where all seven people gave it 5 stars. I totally agree.
It's quiet and has plenty of suction power. I was hoping to get a bagless vac but couldn't find one I really liked. Keep in mind this is a plastic vacuum. I miss the old school cast iron, heavy, metal vacs with metal tubes and attachments. But now a days everything is plastic. With that in mind I give this 5 stars. It rolls great. The cord retractor works great. The little hose and tool holder is really nice. The heads roll and swivel really well. So far no complaints. Have only had it about a month. Used it a few times. It's so easy to get out and use. I don't have that lazy feeling when I need to grab it real quick to vacuum up a small area suddenly. It's quick to grab and get going.

Im a profesional domestic (housekeeper). I often have clients with central units and next to a built in system the miele is the best. It removes dirt I can't even see making the dust far less noticable the next week. I would have liked to buy a model with more atachments but I was on a tight budget. Besides the lowest price model has the same great motor as the $1,100. one at $299. it is unbeatable. I appriciate Amazon's great next day mail. My order was at my house the next day! Love it!
