I got this vacuum for Christmas (yes, I know. But in hubby's defense I actually asked for a new vacuum for Christmas). He did TONS of research to identify a canister vac that met my needs: had to use bags, had to be light and good with pet hair. By getting this as a gift cost wasn't as much of a concern as it was kind of a treat, and let me tell you--this is totally worth the cost. It's super light, super quiet, and super effective. I can vacuum while having a conversation, that's how quiet it is. And you can easily take it up and down the stairs. It has a handy little hook that allows you to connect the hose and bar to the canister so that you can carry it all with one hand.

It is so easy to take this vacuum out that I find myself cleaning more frequently than I did before. And its multi-level suction capability makes it perfect for everything from light cleaning of curtains to heavy-duty cleaning of high-traffic carpets. And the unexpected benefit that I love the most: you don't change the attachment when you switch from hard floors to carpet; the same head unit is used for both. I never thought about it, but just pushing a button when I switch rooms rather than having to disconnect and reconnect attachments is a HUGE timesaver. I love this vacuum!

It's a powerful vacuum for sure. And much much quieter then our Kenmore. Fantastic for upholstery and the car. I mean really, really fantastic. And great on carpet. Its biggest weakness is bare floors -- I think the floor attachment is just too big to maintain a really high level of suction. It picks up dirt fine, but not things like Cheerios. And with a three-year-old, that's kind of a problem. I'm guessing another attachment -- the parquet tool or smooth floor tool -- would solve the problem. But I shouldn't have to pay another $60 to get a $500 vacuum to pick of Cheerios. If it came with a bare floor attachment, I'd easily give it 5 stars. As it stands, I'm rounding up from 3.5 stars.

I don't normally post reviews, but i'm really glad i bought this vacuum. Everything about it is upscale quality. I just vacuumed all the dog air from undernieth the cusions of my couch and it came right off. The people that say it doesn't work good on bare floors must be using the attachment thats ment for carpet, don't be mislead by an operator problem. I'll never go back to an upright bagless vacuum, i was skeptical but now i know i made the right choice.

It was painful to drop five hundred bucks on a vacuum when I don't even have carpet. But I had a Bissell POS* that was supposedly engineered specifically for pet hair removal that had all the suction of someone after a shot of novocaine in the gums. That plus the attachment cord was so short it was barely possible to detach and use without the unit keeling over on you. I looked for a replacement here on Amazon first, mainly for the reviews, and kept coming back to the Miele units. After much handwringing and mental justifications that it was cheaper than maid service, I picked the Delphi for its mid-range features.

Let me say how difficult it is for me to admit that I'm actually in love with a piece of hardware, but that's the long and short of it. I am in love with my vacuum cleaner. I want to pick out curtains with it. I want to marry it and have it take out the trash. This little number has cut my vacuuming time literally to ~20-30% of what it once was. It follows me around like a little lost puppy and is a lot quieter than my hyper high-maintenance Pom. It sucks up things I never knew existed. The multiple settings are truly inspired. I find myself vacuuming tabletops, lamps, bedding, and large houseplants. I'd vacuum my backyard if I didn't know I'd destroy the thing. I mean really, people, this is a thing of joy and well worth half a grand of my hard earned bucks.

What more can I say, the Delphi is powerful and light weight. We use is on carpet, stairs, hardwood, area rugs, around litter boxes and for the car. It is versatile and easy to maneuver. I added a ElectroPlus Powerbrush and there is really nothing this thing can't do.

Have a Miele carina canister which is the S4 series. Love it. Now bought this as well as a gift for my mother and it is an improvement over the S4. Even though it's an S2 series the electric hose and Electro brush makes the difference as mine is the turbo brush. It's good, but the Electro Brush is better. Nice and seems to be build just as well. Great vacuum and the only brand of choice I use.

I really like this vaccum. It's so light and easy to use and the suction is great. My only complaint is that the cord is WAY too short. I can't even get from one side of my livingroom to the other! I've seen lots of complaints from others about this and I'm surprised Miele hasn't dealt with it, it's such a simple thing. But other than that - it rocks.

I recently had an Electrolux Oxygen vacuum that was considered a basic nightmare to use according to myself and other family members. Vacuuming is not a pleasure sport, but it should not feel like a major punishment to have to be the one to do it either. We decided it needed to be replaced, but by a product that was well suited to our needs and that could be depended upon for many years of service.

Personally, I wanted all the features of the Miele Titan, but passionately hated the bright Chili Red canister color. Maybe not a huge issue for some, but if you buy with the idea of many years of use, I would much rather it be in a color that appeals to me versus one that does not. It's just a matter of personal preference.

I also did not want the smaller bags offered for the S4 series, and I most definitely wanted the option for use of an Electric Power brush (which the S4 series can NOT accommodate but the S2 series can).

So, after much research, I noted that the only real difference between the Miele Delphi and the Miele Titan was the HEPA filter, the inclusion of the Parquet Floor Brush, and about $100 dollars more in price.

I also saw several video reviews of the Miele Delphi and noted that with its normally included Miele Super Air Clean Filter installed, clean air output actually had less particles than some other brands that were tested with their HEPA filters intact.

I really don't have a real demand for the HEPA filter at this time, but I did want a Parquet Floor Brush. I chose to upgrade the dusting brush to the Miele Dusting Brush with Natural Bristles and also acquired the Miele Parquett "Twister" floor brush SBB 300-3. The two items cost me just under $90 combined. If in the future I decide I need the HEPA filter, I can purchase the Miele Active HEPA Filter SF-AH 30 which is the same as used by the Titan and is perfectly compatible with the Delphi if you wish that particular upgrade.

The result is that I now have what is essentially a Lotus White Titan, although the canister states Delphi, and it cost me about $10 less. I don't have that bright Chili Red canister color to deal with either.

So far, I really am overjoyed with the performance of this system. Although still not a pleasure sport to have to vacuum, it is a pleasure to use this system when it needs to be done and the results are so rewarding. It does all that it is supposed to do, does it relatively quietly and does it very well.

I felt it was time to invest in a good vacuum after buying (and re-purchasing) poor quality vacuum cleaners from big box stores for so long. I've always been impressed with the Miele brand. The reviews are consistently above average. And since there's a Miele dealer in my town I knew it would be easy to get the vacuum serviced and obtain new bags. So far, I'm really enjoying the vacuum. It's a little quieter than my old one which isn't a huge deal, but it's nice. My only complaints are that the electrical cord is too short and the accessories get knocked off by the hose. The vacuum picks up nearly everything and it's easy to use. There's no weird smell when I turn it on (from the bag) as was the case with my old vacuum cleaner. I like that I can turn the power off on the handle without changing any attachments when going from hard floor to carpet. The cannister rolls smoothly and hasn't given me any issues. The bags are rather expensive, so I hope they're large and last a long time. One other thing: I like that I can park the handheld part on tne cannister, but then you can't carry it around that way--it's just a little awkward carrying the whole thing around the hallways and such. The retractable power cord is a nice feature. And I was able to clean the stones around my fireplace using one of the brush attachments...my fireplace looks brand new! I feel that this vacuum is going to last a long, long time and I'm definately happy with my purchase. Next time I visit my local Miele dealer, I may purchase a HEPA filter for it as my daughter has mild allergies.

My parents purchased a Miele roughly 10 years ago and my aunt has had one since the early 90s. When it came time for me to finally purchase a real vacumm (no more Target junk), I knew right away that I wanted a Miele.

I studied up on the current models and determined that the S2 line would give me the best bang for my buck (I did have a budget after all.) I picked the Delphi since it came with a power brush (half of my house is carpet and the other half is wood/tile.) I purchased a seperate floor tool rather than spending $100 more for the top of the line S2 (didn't need the HEPA filter.)

I have used the cleaner for only a few days but it works wonderfully. The power brush works great on my medium grade frieze carpet and wool area rugs. Its also nice to be able to connec the power head directly to the hose and use it on the stairs. Much easier than trying to lug around an upright.

The cleaner is fairly quiet, having used a S5 (or older similar model) I can say its a bit louder than that, but compared to most anything else its not loud at all.

If you are on the fence, buy it. You will not regret it!
