An honest review from a Grandmother:),

This review is from: Miele : S7210 Twist Upright Vacuum (Royal Blue) (Kitchen)
I just purchased the Miele Twist and I know how these reviews are important to me, so I hope that I can help someone esle who is considering the Miele S7 series (any model).
I researched the motors as I was told by the salesperson that the "Twist" has a cheaper motor than the Salsa, etc. This is not true. They all have the same motor - look at Miele's website. The $100 difference is the filter and headlight. You can purchase the better filter and put it in the Twist and have the same machine without the light. I debated on purchasing off of the web, so I could save money. In my research I found that Authorized Dealers DO NOT honor the warranty if purchased from the web!!! So buyer beware. Upon purchasing and giving it a test run, when I went to use the hose attachment it came out of the machine before I could even stretch it to full length, which is really NOT very far, if you like to vac high places - forget it. The hose attachment is much like a dryer vent. Bottom line: The Miele Twist is VERY easy to vac with and because it is on a petite side it can get to many little places and the swivel future is wonderful. It vacuums well, however, going over the same area with my old Riccar, I could hear it picking up debris that apparently the Miele missed. I think this machine is good, however, I think there are others that might be better for the price. I rate it a 3 star.

I wasted my money six months ago on a Hoover Tempo. It had been recommended by Consumer Reports which I am now starting to suspect of being highly biased towards certain brands... since that Hoover Tempo was a piece of junk. I used it 20 times and the thing broke and became completely un-usable. I didn't even want to bother with the warranty. I'm never going to consider Hoover for anything. I had fears before getting it due to some mixed feedback including some that were poor (how can this be a CR recommended product...). It was in-expensive so that made me try it out. Pure Garbage. I decided to check out Miele since my mother in-law had highly recommended it. I checked product reviews and they were great (aside from the high price tag). This product is actually designed to last 15 years. I bet it will be the last vaccum I"ll ever have to buy. This product is heavy, it's built solid. If you need to do a lot of cleaning in stairs and you are not a strong person this may not be so appropriate. But for bare floors to carpet, this is unbelievable. I am so glad I got this. It also doesn't take me much time to clean up. It sucks dirt so efficiently and quietly, it's amazing. Filters may be expensive but who cares, this makes your house smell nice, very clean and quickly. Get the cheaper blue model. Who cares about how it looks; it's in the closet most of the time. I'm not going to be posing for GQ while I vaccum. I give my highest ratings to this product.

Pure Perfection! BMW of Vacs!,

This review is from: Miele : S7210 Twist Upright Vacuum (Royal Blue) (Kitchen)
Pure heavenly bliss! No assembly out of box - just plug in handle and go! Quiet motor! German made! Just like a BMW! There isn't anything they've missed on this vac! I have wall to wall carpet and 4 kids and just decided to give up my Kirby because it's too heavy for me (even with the self-drive transmission, it's still a burden to change heads and use the stick to vac). Hugely long awesome 39-foot cord (most other vacs you get lucky if it's barely 30 feet and you have to plug and unplug all over the place)!!! 54 foot total radius reach!!! Finger-tip on/off switch at fingertips, brush on/off button at fingertips (if you need to stop and move furniture you can just turn brush off and it is like running an air filtration unit), notch to keep cord up and out of way, super sweet construction (not like dyson which has stiff cheap plastic that cracks) this plastic is very high quality durable plastic and metal bottom. Has belt off mechanism so for any reason if the brush starts to eat something it shouldn't be because you ran over it, it will auto turn off so the belt will never break! all parts are on board as you go! no running to get anything. You can stop mid-vacuum and take quick draw 12 foot hose out, awesome aluminum construct stick attachment, and grab large hard to reach objects in your path and up high!!! no, the vac will NOT follow you around when you try to pull the hose farther like with the dyson!! this machine is made so it won't move around when you are pulling the hose out to clean! all the parts can detach so that you have a short wand to maneuver better too - dyson doesn't. it's sooooo strong too! you can vacuum anything with super huge power, or even choose a different setting which is not so 'eat em up strong' and vacuum curtains and upholstery without sucking them off the wall! True totally enclosed HEPA filter system. Bag doesn't need to be emptied nearly as much as dyson ball. awesome huge bag that truly keeps every particle in!! it totally flattens to the floor too and reaches far under anything you need - like your bed! swivel neck is awesome to get around stuff! you can twist and turn all you want! The word is that dyson ball breaks down a whole lot more (I'm willing to bet, though that most of those complaints are because of 'user-error') but Miele's reputation (pronounced like miela) will last 20 years or more. It's pure love for me as a busy busy mom with wall to wall carpet (yes even under kitchen table!!) and 1 and 2 year old babies in the mix! handle is definitely in the right spot to carry too (mid-waist of the unit), if you need to get it upstairs - the dyson is not. unlike the powerful canister machines, this upright is easy to store too! it all goes back together and needs a tiny square in your closet to store upright. (by the way, canister machines are for if you mostly have hard floors, and upright is if you have mostly carpets). This miele has a totally sealed 9 layer electrostatic charged HyClean filtering dustbag with this spring loaded thing that shuts when you take it off so it keeps every ounce of dust away from you, your face, your hands, and your garbage!!! I did not like how the bagless machines had you dump the dust out into the air again and static cling all over the inside of my garbage bag so that when I went to pull it out, it swirled around the air all over again. I also LOVE the castor wheels that make it so easy to get around! The 1,200-watt vortex motor is awesome.
