4.0 out of 5 stars Almost Perfect
The original parquet brush with an even line of stiff bristles caught the dust but just moved larger debris along the floor. This new brush is a great redesign, perfect for hardwood floors. 2.0 out of 5 stars Floor Brush and Vacuum Cleaner disappointing
Sorry to say that my Miele cleaner does not work well. The bag fills up quickly without warning. Even at the highest setting the suction for the floor brush is terrible (although the suction is sufficient for the attachment which gets corners). The handle is too short for tall people. The floor brush does not work well. I put the opening in the floor brush directly over a...

4.0 out of 5 stars Almost Perfect, February 17, 2007

This review is from: Miele SBB300-3 Parquet Floor Brush (Kitchen)
The original parquet brush with an even line of stiff bristles caught the dust but just moved larger debris along the floor. This new brush is a great redesign, perfect for hardwood floors. The bristles are spaced alternating high and low allowing the necessary airspace to capture more than just dust. The head rotates easily for access to those difficult to reach places. However, it does nothing but floors, and since most people have a rug & floor combination it becomes just one more vacuum head that you have to haul around.

Don't get me wrong, if you care about your hardwood floors ,this is a keeper. I am buying another for my second vacuum cleaner.

Perfect would be a re-introduction of the original combination tool with rotating head that cleaned rugs and didn't scratch the heck out of hardwood floors.

Although Miele purports to love communication from consumers, they have never answered any of the emails I've sent suggesting that they re-introduce the original combination tool.

5.0 out of 5 stars I am so glad I bought this., November 15, 2009

I have mostly hard wood and tile flooring. The parquet brush is so much easier to use than the combination carpet / smooth floor tool that came with my Miele canister vacuum. I save the other tool for my area rugs. The parquet brush is lighter and so easy to maneuver under beds and other furniture. No regrets with this purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars a must for hardwood floors, January 31, 2010

This brush is great, I would never use anything else on my newly refinished hardwood for fear of scratches. My only complaint is that it should have been included when I purchased my miele. The standard brush "for hard floors" with the metal bottom kind of scares me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must-Have Hardwood/Tile Floor Attachment, May 7, 2010

We recently purchased a Miele Olympus, which comes with some pretty bare-bones synthetic-bristle tools alongside it.

Because we have 2000 sq ft and 99% of it is hardwood floors or tile, I knew immediately upon trying the synthetic floor brush that comes with the Olympus, that it was just not going to do. The customer service representative had me try this one, and it is perfect. Period.

This brush is a simple affair. The edges have horsehair bristles, which glide smoothly across floors. The bristles alternate from short to high all the way around, allowing them to suck dirt, dust and gunk of all shapes and sizes with relative ease. Well, you have to pick it up and place it over leaves, but that's to be expected. The underside of the head is hollow, and functions like a dome/funnel up to the hose opening where the insane suction created by the 1200 watt vortex motor take care of the bulk of the action.

The range of motion the swivel head has is pretty impressive. It also has a short-range telescoping function in the u-curve, which adds more flexibility to this tool. The end result is a tool which is more manueverable, perhaps, than any other vacuum attachment you've ever used. It reaches easily into every nook and cranny around the kitchen, bathroom, underneath beds, sofas, around table legs. Basically, it does what you want it to, which is an oft desired feature of a product, and equally often a disappointing drawback.

I noted that many reviewers are displeased with the exclusion of this tool from their new vacuum. Because I bought the cheapest vacuum, it was no surprise to me, but I will add that if you buy from a vacuum dealer, you may get a discount. I did, to the tune of 75% on this one. If you would like to start off with a vacuum that comes equipped with this piece (and other superior tools) the Neptune @ $499.99 (note, this cannot be power upgraded) comes with the parquet brush and turbo brush and the Titan - $599.99 comes with this tool, and is equipped with the power wand/floor tool.

It's worth mentioning that this tool, like all Miele products, is made in Germany.

5.0 out of 5 stars A "must have" accessory!, June 8, 2010

This brush is the main reason I invested in a Miele vacuum cleaner. I have cats, so fur and tracked litter are always a problem. The machine I bought didn't come with this brush, but I was able to exchange the one that came with my machine, receiving full credit toward the purchase of the parquet brush. It maintains contact with the floor, even when twisted to fit under furniture or into tight spaces. It is outstanding! This brush is amazing.

I was hesitant to purchase this additional floor tool but was having trouble with the one that came with my new Miele canister vacuum. The machine's suction is so strong I was having trouble sliding the standard floor tool across my wood floors. I would have to set the suction control to very low so the tool that came with it would not stick to the floor which defeated the whole purpose of my wanting this vacuum. After reading the good reviews I decided to purchase the Parquet Floor Brush. It is fantastic! The long bristles allow it to easily slide across the floor even when I have the suction set on max! It gets into corners well and fits easily under furniture. They should include this one with the machine instead of the chintzy one they do include.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great brush!, August 23, 2011

This brush definitely should come with the vacuum, especially since Miele prides themselves on being known for hard floors. That face aside, It is well worth the price though. It is so smooth and moves with a lot more ease than the brush that comes standard. It does not do as well on the one rug we have in the house, but I can deal with that, since the rest of the house is all hardwoods or tile.

I purchased the Miele vacuum to use on hardwood floors and was very disappointed with the "convertable" brush that came with it. This attachment is wonderful for hardwood. Unfortunately, it's quite expensive for such a product, but I expect it to last for many years.

While doing my research on the Miele vacuums it took me a while to consider ordering this tool in addition to the vacuum I was considering. I am so glad I bought this tool. It is the best engineered tool for cleaning hard floors that I have ever used. It is very clever and enables you to get under and in between all but the tiniest spaces. If you don't have this tool and you have lots of hard floors you will not be using the Miele to its fullest. Even though the cost is high just suck it up and buy. You will not be disappointed.

This brush moves easily along the floor; it glides nicely, and it swivels in tight spaces. I only wish I didn't have to buy separate attachments for the floor and the carpet. All in all, a great product.
