"It Might as Well Be Spring"
Colleen McNabb

This is a seasoned jazz debut. Produced with Reigning Rooster Records, McNabb is a talented vocalist who performs regularly throughout Chicago. Her vocals on "Nature Boy," "Besame Mucho" and "I'm Walkin'" flatter the composers, as does her sultry cover of Jim Croce's "Time in a Bottle." But it's her rendition of "Don't Get Around Much Anymore" that really sizzles, thanks to the piano work of John Roothaan.

This is excellent work, and should be noted as such.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, December 15, 2004
This review is from: It Might As Well Be Spring (Audio CD)
I have had the pleasure of seeing Colleen sing live and now I have her CD. She is, in every sense of the word "amazing". I am not a big jazz fan per se, but this is awesome stuff. I listened to the CD 3 consecutive times the first night I received it. Every time it ended, I need to hear more. I just could not get enough. Her voice is smooth as silk and in a word "soothing". How she is not world famous I don't know. She should be. There is no doubt she can sing just about any kind of music. If you haven't ever heard of her, you should... and you probably will. Buy this CD, and I guarantee you'll be a big fan too. I know I am. I look forward to her next recording and to seeing her sing live again!!
Awesome job Colleen...totally awesome. .

5.0 out of 5 stars Spring is Here, June 1, 2004

Great job on this album by an excellent singer and educator. Band swings hard when it needs to, and supports on the quieter selections (that are phrased excellently). Favorite Track for me=Skylark. Buy this album...do it!
