2.0 out of 5 stars Good light but not well made
I love the light but after 2 months it has a short in the adapter (I think). I use it most nights to read in bed but if I touch the cord, the light goes out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great gift idea, May 13, 2009
This review is from: Mighty Bright XtraFlex2 Book Light with Adaptor - Pink
I bought a purple light with the adaptor. My main desire was to use it to read during my morning carpool commute to work. I loved this product so much that I bought three as gifts and am ready to buy one more.

There are three versions of this light offered for sale. One is just the light. One includes an adaptor. One includes batteries. The light does require 3 AAA batteries if the adaptor is not being used. I've found it available in blue, green, silver, black, purple and pink. There is also a Kindle version.

I have been using this light for over a month and am still using the same batteries. I have yet to use the adaptor. The batteries are more convenient for me. I had purchased rechargable batteries and a charge but haven't broken into them yet.

There are two lights on this product and three light settings. The left, right or both lights can be used. The neck is flexible so that it is easy to move to a position that actually sheds light on the entire page (if not two pages). It is bright. My husband still complains when I read in bed with it...however, it doesn't bother my carpool driver.

The clip is large and will easily attach to hardcovers. I usually clip it to the top of the pages that I've already read. When reading mass market paperbacks, I try to clip it to as large of a hunk of pages as possible because I don't like the light to move around.

A very useful product. Make sure to buy only what you need. As I did pay extra for an adaptor and just don't use it at all.

5.0 out of 5 stars MIGHTY BRIGHT WITH ADAPTOR - LIGHT OF MY LIFE!, March 24, 2009

Great product especially with the adapter - makes all the difference. Don't store adapter in purse as it will slide down and get turned on - then battery life decreases! Worth the purchase.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mighty Bright is right, March 23, 2009

This little book light fills its name as it is bright and clips onto any book with ease. It does tend to move around quite a bit with use with the Kindle 2 is the only downfall I can find with this little light. I really like the flex so you can position the light itself anywhere on the page you desire.

4.0 out of 5 stars 2-LED allow for brightness control, long battery life, May 21, 2009
This review is from: Mighty Bright XtraFlex2 Book Light with Adaptor - Pink
I received one of these (different color) a few months ago and my verdict is that I am likely to use it when reading books at night.

Brief overview:

- 2 bright LED's with lenses
- light has more blue and very little red, or yellow (think of a steady neon light)
- uses 3 (THREE) AAA batteries which makes the base a little heavy
- 40-hour battery life (claim is made on the package, not exactly timed by me) but it does feel like it lasts forever on a charge
- power adapter does not justify paying twice as much for this book light given the long battery life and the inconvenience of running an electric wire on your bed
- relatively long, flexible arm
- can turn on 1 or 2 LED's
- solid build
- a bit heavy but had no problem using it with a paperback

I will definitely use this lamp when reading books at night. I doubt I will ever use it as a flashlight or a work light unless I had no other choice. If I were to buy another book light today it would be a Mighty Bright but I would go for the 'no adapter' version which sells for about half the price.

I read in bed, and not to disturb my husband I use book lights. I go through bulbs and batteries like crazy! This one is great, uses a plug in adaptor (saves on batteries) and has the LCD light bulbs that supposidly don't ever need to be replaced. I figure, it will pay for itself after a couple books. Works great, it flexible, long cord too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mighty Bright perfect for the Kindle 2 or Kindle 3 models, September 19, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Mighty Bright XtraFlex2 Book Light with Adaptor - Pink
We have two of these in my household, and they are perfect for traveling, or for use during electric power outages. Our Kindles have "Tuf-Luv" leather cases, one is pink, the other is black. The Mighty Bright comes in a multitude of colors, so we were able to get book lights color-matched to our Kindle cases. The Mighty Bright clamps securely onto the Kindle, with or without the leather case, and the flexible neck adjusts to any position necessary to cast the proper lighting on the Kindle screen. The two-position switch gives a choice of high or low intensity light. The low position works fine for me, but perhaps people with poor eyesight will appreciate the higher intensity position. FIVE STARS for this excellent product!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this reading lamp!, March 21, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Mighty Bright XtraFlex2 Book Light with Adaptor - Pink
I had an older version of this lamp and really liked it, but this one is even better! My almost 2 year old son got a hold of the old one and broke it, but after getting the new one I wish he'd broken it sooner. The light is the same but the lamp itself is lighter, it doesn't weigh down the book at all. Also the flexible neck is much tighter, it stays exactly where I places it, the old one I'd have to readjust every now and then. I ordered the adapter so I'd use less batteries. I couldn't be happier with this lamp, which I now hide so it won't get broken.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love this light!, September 16, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Mighty Bright XtraFlex2 Book Light with Adaptor - Pink
This is the 4th Mighty Bright light that I have purchased. The 1st was a MB Craft light. It was nice but was lacking something. When I bought my Kindle2, I bought the MB Flex LED and fell in love! I liked it so much that I bought one in purple. Now, with the purchase of my K3, I wanted something girly, so I ordered the MB Flex LED in pink with the adapter. Unfortunately, I have to send this one back as it's missing a gripper pad and won't stay put. I'm still giving it 4 stars based on previous experience & performance.

1.0 out of 5 stars To flimsy, August 18, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Mighty Bright XtraFlex2 Book Light with Adaptor - Pink
I bought the pink light with the adaptor to use when we travel to go racing. The neck of this light is so flimsy it does not stay in place. Everytime we hit a bump it leans farther and farther back and to the left. I literally have to hold the neck in order to use the light. I would not recommend to anyone.
